Thanks BM Xx
Well I'm back from fat club and I've gained 3lbs. What's worse is that now means I've lost less than 2 stone when earlier on in the year I wasn't far away from the 3 stone mark. Damn you comfort eating!! It does spur me on, but I'm afraid I won't really be starting properly until the kids go back to school and I've got rid of the rubbish food stuff we've still got. Hopefully this week won't be too bad.
Today I decided we should get out and 'do' something. We had thought about Beamish as we have free passes ready and waiting, but it was really icy this morning. DS1 wanted to go swimming but the pool is closed until Saturday apparently, so DS2 suggested rock climbing. The centre didn't open until 12 which is the same time the kids class starts, so we drove over there in the hope that it wasn't fully booked, only to find it wasn't even on today . So option #997 was to go bowling, which we did manage to do. When I went to the desk to pay I asked for the Carer's discounted rate that I'd been given last time, and the girl said certainly, £2 for DH per game, £3.95 per child and £4.95 for me. I was like , and said, oh dear me I must have been very lucky last time because we all got it for the £2 rate, so the girl said if I didn't tell anyone she'd put it through like that again :j. I'm getting good at being cheeky, but always in a very thankful and polite manner.
I'm feeling more positive today but I want to thank everyone again for being so supportive. Amber, I'm sorry you've had such an awful run of luck and I truly hope it's over for you now. In 2000, my Grandma died on my birthday, in 2001 it was the awful twin towers tragedy, so in 2002 I hid!! Thankfully the cycle was broken until 2004 whereby I spent the whole of my birthday in labour!! That was for the greater good though so I didn't mind so much!
BM, I'm sorry to hear about your Mum. FiL had cancer too and it really is a cruel disease. Thank you for your kind words about my Goddaughter, it's still such a shock that her 16 year old life just ceased overnight. I can't believe it's been a year and neither can her Mum. In truth, her Mum can't believe she has even gone and she exists in a sort of dreamlike state. She set her place at the Christmas table, and I'm sure your positive vibes helped her Robin, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing that Xx
Lilt, I hope you are comfortable and recovering well after your op today.

Sorry MiT, we cross posted. Good luck with eliminating drama! If you find out how will you let me know please :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi Lucky
I missed your post yesterday, hope you are feeling more positive now.
Its the start of a fresh new year tomorrow and i can feel its going to be a good one. Think if we believe hard enough it might actually happen:D
Keep smiling, Hope you have a wonderful New Years eve. xxx0 -
You're ending '14 on a :money: high Lucky; getting bank charge refunded and a cheap deal at bowling - well done! :Tplease-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »DH does drink *some* fizzy pop but his preference is usually coffee or water. He doesn't drink alcohol at all Xx
 A while ago someone mentioned keeping a diary to see whether there might be any triggers that set off DH's seizures. If I were in your shoes Lucky, I'd do this. Maybe a month simply recording what happens, then cut out as many potential triggers as possible for another month - including coffee [especially strong 'barista' mixes from coffee-shops or the machines many folk now have at home], as well as all fizzy drinks and ready-meals. Tap water is also suspect due to the chemicals added at treatment plants, alas. Fluoride is good for the teeth, but certainly not for the brain.
When we lived in Newcass'l - which admittedly is a long time ago - we used to drive over Hexham way to collect drinking water from a place where they bottled spring water. Anyone could fill large containers for free (we had several 15[?]ltr barrels with a tap, sold for home-brewing; easy to carry - well, for any 'normal' adult, lol - and keep on a kitchen surface. Used for cooking as well as all drinks). Sorry can't remember the name of the village, but there was a wonderful garden centre with a cafe and playground on the way; it made a good excursion.. Although thinking about it, maybe not at this time of year unless your car is a 4x4.
Anyway, see what happens, whether there is any reduction in DH's bad temper and 'waves of fear' episodes during the second month?
Apologies. Reading this back, it sounds erm, too pushy - not quite what am trying to say. Thing is, there are limits to the wonderful work today's allopathic doctors can do.. Sometimes, by combining different approaches - thinking outside the box? - it's possible to achieve a better result than by simply accepting whatever DH's consultant says and prescribes as the only 'treatment' available.
I went through this with Divo Three. The doctors were certain he would be brain-damaged after everything ... but that's another story. Sorry; haven't got a very good brain m'self today. Rambling. Time to get m' coat - walk the dawg..

Yayyy!! :j so happy the bank charge was refunded. £10 is a lot of money even if less than you expected! And wow, you realise that you got in for £8 when the cost would have been £14.85
so £24.45 saved in the blink of an eye. I wonder if you added up all the true cost vs what you paid on everything each month, what kind of saving you would end up with. I am sure it would be fantastical!
Jellytot is currently throwing an absolutely epic strop as she is 'nocked out' of my bedroom according to her. Reality is she isn't twisting the handle far enough and I am not getting out of bed to let her come in and jump all over me. I am fine thoughjust trying to take it easy and being in the room with her & Him means that he hands over all responsibility and just keeps gaming so I have retired for the day to my room
Chub club is disheartening but it is the time of year for it flower and you have eaten nice things. Just jump back on the wagon at midnight and you will soon be up there at 3 stone. I have dumped on weight and can't wear any trousers so I had better lose my weight fast or I will be back at work a week today in my undies
Big hugs, and a Happy New Year to you and all who wander into your lovely thread. May 2015 be the year for all of usxx

Lucky forget about the weight gain 3lbs is a reasonable gain for Christmas plus you've lost over 2 stone which isn't to be sneezed at. Tomorrow is another day to start afresh. Well done getting the bank charge back and the bargain bowling deal.
Happy New Year and fingers crossed it's a good one for all of us. I think we all deserve it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
