Makes sense, as you can increase it more because you're no longer paying the B'Card, and thus still avoid too much interest? xx

Glad to hear you had a fab Christmas Lucky and you are doing very well to have your money-head back on already. Sounds like a good idea with the credit cards, you are doing so well and the end is in sight! I'm going on maternity leave in Jan and trying to get the last of the big spends out of the way in the next couple of months so there isn't too much pressure when my wages drop!
Hope you have a restful few days and that hubby stays well. Big hugs xxx0 -
Ah Nicky, how exciting! I don't think I knew you were pregnant?! Congratulations. Do you know if you are having pink or blue? You'll have to let us know when he/she arrives. Is this your first baby? XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Great idea about dealing with Barclaycard.
I was going to say don't focus on the big total, think about the 100 day challenge and pay off x per day on top of the usual monthly £75 - even if it's a £1 your chipping away...... XAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Thanks BM. I'm going to try my best to clear it within 6 months, but also be sensible in knowing that I may not be able to clear it in time. I've left us very short recently which had never been my plan, and I don't wish to repeat the experience. I'm used to not having a lot of money but I don't like not having ANY! We have DS2's birthday in January, a little holiday in April, countless half term school holidays and then car insurance due within the next 6 months too, so I can't do everything.
So in the spirit of not having any money/saving money, today has been a NSD. It's after 4pm and I'm still in pjs. I never do that but I've just been pottering on all day and haven't got round to it yet. Think I might just have a bath or a shower and then put fresh ones on! Lush Xx

Sounds like a nice day Lucky. I love pottering around on a Sunday. You're right to take it steady paying off debt, just like you've steadily lost weight it's the way forward to keeping off both debt and weight. You're heading in the right direction is all that matters, don't leave yourself short.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Nicky congrats on the baby soon to be here!
Lucky that sounds like a fab Sunday. I had a shower a couple of hours ago and got dressed because the in laws are coming, but I didn't even get out of my jamas at all yesterday
I am so proud of you for paying down the debt with everything you have to cope withyou're very single minded and determined. I want to be more like you when I grow up!

Thanks for the congrats Lucky and Lilt! I'm due in 6 weeks and we are having a yellow one. I have a feeling it's a boy but wouldn't be that surprised if I'm wrong - happy with either and just hoping for a healthy baby and (hopefully) OK labour!
In true MSE style we had the spreadsheet out this morning wondering how to arrange money whilst I'm on mat leave. I work for the NHS so get a decent maternity package but it's the three months unpaid at the end that will be hardest, really hoping to have the 12 months off if I can though.
Sounds like you have a lot of expenses coming up Lucky so sounds like a good idea to do your best but not leave yourself too short, you are paying a lot less interest than you were after all! And still need to enjoy life whilst battling the debt!0 -
Oooh next time around I am having a yellow one too!!
I found out for practical reasons and because a lot of people forced my hand with Jellytot. Next time, I don't give a monkeys screw; I want a surprise!
(listen to her, next time... hmmm)
Don't forget to look at tax credits etc and take into account child benefits and thingsgood luck on the labour!!!

I had 2 yellow ones and the surprise in the delivery room was the best moment ever. When I was pregnant with DS2, FiL was terminally ill so we asked the sonographer at the 20 week scan to write down in a sealed envelope what we were having, so that FiL could know as we didn't want to. We had our scan on the Friday and he passed away on the Monday having never opened it
. When DS2 arrived, DH and his Mum opened the envelope and inside it said "I'm a boy Grandpa!". Such a bittersweet thing to know they had been right but he hadn't felt up to knowing.
On a lighter note, my midwife correctly predicted boys each time throughout my pregnancies based on their heartbeat patterns!
Good luck with the labour Nicky! Lilt, you should definitely have another, you make beautiful children!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
