Hey Lucky, how about letting DS1 having a radio on low at night? It would maybe combat the "boredom". However, I'd also be telling him how much impact his behaviour is having on you, and how difficult it makes things for you when you are so tired. It won't do any harm for him to hear that his behaviour is making your life much harder.

Can any parent(s) from school take the children to school and bring them home afterwards for you, even a couple of days a week?

Hurray to you staying away from Beavers.

    Hugs, Satchmo xx

  • Thanks everyone, some good points to consider. Several Mums have offered to take DS2 to and from school (DS1 gets the school bus with his pals so he's self sufficient!) and I had lots of offers to take DS2 to the party yesterday also, but I actually NEED to do these things myself for some social interaction, a bit of a break and to keep me sane. I know the offers are there if I really need them though.

DH has just scared me a little. He had another mini seizure but then started what he thought was a continuation of our current conversation but it was actually a few hours ago that we were talking about it. He was talking really fast too and looked 'wired' so I'm wondering if that could be some kind of seizure too. I'm feeling nervous as this is all 'unknown'.

Lucky, are you able to ring the seizure nurse to talk over whether this is within the "normal" range for patients, and to log DHs experiences?

  • Morning all!

Made it through the night peacefully and DH is back to his 'normal' self this morning. I, however, am loaded with cold :(.

Satchmo, I rang and left a message for the seizure nurse first thing. The receptionist gleefully informed me that she is off today and may not ring me until Friday when she has her next scheduled telephone clinic. Hopefully she'll get in touch before then though. If DH gets any worse again I'll ring back and demand to speak to someone or I'll take him to A&E if needs must. He seems more settled today though (touch wood!) Xx
