Oh yes, I have done similar to this sooo many times. At one point, I was so worried about saying the wrong thing to someone that I would read texts and emails about 20 times before sending them and then re-read them after sending them to make sure that it really did sound ok (despite the fact that it was too late to do anything about it then). Thankfully, I'm much better now and only need to read them about 5 times before sending them! :rotfl:

Actually, I suspect a lot of people do this sometimes, even those who have never experienced anxiety, but I could be wrong.

Sorry to hear you know exactly how I felt the other day :( but glad you feel you have improved. For me, I think it stems from trying to be a good person and treating others in the best way possible. The thought of upsetting someone is so awful, that I panic about doing it accidentally.

Lucky, is it worth asking for the garden waste to be taken free of charge due to DHs disability? Don't ask, don't get after all. Or to put it in a North East phrase "shy bairns get nowt"

Shy bairns do indeed get nowt Satchmo :D. No harm in asking, though I already feel guilty that we get a very reduced council tax!!

We pay £34 a year for our garden waste collection. If we lived in the city boundaries it would be free.

  • £14 . I'd cry if I paid that for some pudding. And olive oil flavour?? That's um .... Interesting!!

SA you've made me feel better about ours being 'only' £20. £34 is a bit steep! How often do they empty it for that? Ours is fortnightly through the summer and once a month in the winter.

Did my SW Consultant a favour this morning and weighed everyone in at her other class before heading on to the gym. DH went back to his Mum's after lunch to help finish the decorating so I just pottered and did some ironing and the dishes etc. So far today has been a NSD, but it's Family Fun Friday and we are off out to a fundraiser tonight so that will change. It's for the Heart Unit at the Freeman hospital, so it's a very worthy cause, not least because of future SIL needing their assistance. DS1 is desperate to win first prize in the raffle as it's an iPod touch, so please send positive vibes his way :D.

To make you feel even more better our borough charges £45 for garden waste collected fortnightly except Dec, Jan and Feb when not at all! :eek:eek:

Our collection cycle is the same as BM's. Hope you had a great time at the fundraiser and that DS got his win!

DS1 didn't win the ipod, however I've had a message to say we did win something but she can't remember what :rotfl:. She thinks it was alcohol. The night was a roaring success for the charity which is what matters, but for us as a family I'm afraid it was a bit of a flop. DH really didn't want to go and sat with a face on him, DS1 wasn't too impressed as none of his friends were there (their Mums were but not the kids) and by 8.45pm DS2 was saying he was tired and wanted his bed. So we were home by 9pm before the raffle was even drawn. I know it's part of DH's illness that he doesn't like going out and being sociable, but it made me feel a bit down that life has changed so much. It used to be that you couldn't keep DH in, and whilst I'm thrilled he doesn't drink any more I'd still like to have somewhat of a social life with him. It's not like we go out often. I should have left the 3 of them at home with MiL and gone on my own!

I was feeling hard done by about the bins as we pay £45 but we do at least have a fortnightly collection except if it clashes with Xmas or New Year.

Up until a few years ago we had no green waste collection at all and then they introduced a payable one - quite a few in my village pay. We have 2 as our garden is quite big and one cut of the back fills 2 bins so then the front gets left - I am seriously considering a 3rd!!!

Too be honest it works out at less than £1pw and it would cost me more than that to drive to the local tip so I am fine with it plus a few times a year they do an open event at a local park and you can turn up with bags and spades and help yourself to free compost!!

Sorry your evening out ended too early - we rarely go out as a family any longer either! I agree that next time leave them behind and have a great time on your own!!

Sorry to hear your night out was cut short. It's funny you should mention the social life bit as yesterday when I was having lunch with friends, one of them was talking about the lovely day out she'd had with her hubby and it made me wish I had a normal life again. I know we had a good holiday but it's the day to day life you miss. So massive hugs to you Lucky and remember I (and many others no doubt) know how you feel x Next time take a friend or go on your own!
