Hooray for chub club and beating DH. Nothing like a healthy bit of competition to spice it up ;)

Can't believe it has been that long. That is officially the longest I have ever known him go without a seizure!!! Best before that was just 14-15 weeks I think.

Keep going and talking it out with the counsellor hun. Hope you don't have another attack. xxx

  • Thanks Dolphin. I certainly haven't ruled out the CBT and I'll take any help I can get. The thing yesterday was that I sent what I meant to be a caring text to one of my friends that lost her Mum last week, and then I panicked that it could have been misconstrued as insensitive, even though DH read it and said it sounded fine. She didn't reply for half an hour and I got more and more worked up that I'd done the wrong thing. When she did reply it was obvious she'd taken the message in the way I'd intended and all was fine. Later I read the message again, and I can't even see how I thought it would be seen as insensitive!!

Lovely Lilt, thanks for always being there! DH has only had one period of 20 weeks seizure free and then this one of 16 weeks thus far. Otherwise I think 8 weeks was the best he managed, but more normally less than that between seizures. He's had a few mini seizures in the last 16 weeks but even they have seemed less frequent :j.

Cheers Beanie and SA :D. Got to make the most of my head being 'in the right place' at the moment and lose as much as I can. Beating DH is a bonus too!!

Got my home insurance renewal quote through and it had gone up £20 on last year . Did a few quotes online and managed to find a quote at the same price as last year, so I rang the current insurers to see if they could match it. They said no unless I'd up my voluntary excess , so I told them to (politely) shove it and went with the new company instead.

Then had to pay the £20 difference to the local council to have my garden waste removed for the coming 12 months :rotfl:.

Car tax is also due. Groan!

In one hand and out the other, but at least it was £20 you had to spend either way. Better to pay it towards something useful rather than something that was easy ;)

I really thought he had gone 14 weeks once. I know it has been a long time!! I am so pleased for you; I know he has his mini waves of fear, and his confused moments and his jerky nights sleep... but all in all, this is BETTER!

I think this year is going to be a really good one for your household. I see debt almost being gone, health on the up, weight on the down... You're doing so well. You have two fabulous cheeky crazy wonderful little boys and so much love in your house.

    Smooches! xx

  • Lilt, you had me doubting myself so I've just added up all the weeks between his seizures and I have to say I've surprised myself!! I don't know where I got 20 weeks from, but the best he's ever gone is 18 weeks. However, he has also done 17 weeks before (between seizure 2 and 3 so perhaps before I started counting!) and he once managed 15 weeks as well (between seizure 5 and 6). All of those high numbers were 2013. In 2014 it was much lower numbers of weeks between seizures. And here was me thinking I had all the info present and correct :o.

I'm cautiously joining you in your optimism! Smooches to you too Xx

Beanie, this will be the 3rd year we have to pay for Garden refuse collection. It used to be free. To be fair though it's optional, but still .

Oh yes, I have done similar to this sooo many times. At one point, I was so worried about saying the wrong thing to someone that I would read texts and emails about 20 times before sending them and then re-read them after sending them to make sure that it really did sound ok (despite the fact that it was too late to do anything about it then). Thankfully, I'm much better now and only need to read them about 5 times before sending them! :rotfl:

Actually, I suspect a lot of people do this sometimes, even those who have never experienced anxiety, but I could be wrong.

Lucky, is it worth asking for the garden waste to be taken free of charge due to DHs disability? Don't ask, don't get after all. Or to put it in a North East phrase "shy bairns get nowt"
