Met my oh in a pub beer garden, just got chatting. I'd be lying if I said alcohol hadn't helped with confidence, but nothing wrong with branching out on your own

I met my wife at work. A fair few of my colleagues are married to each other.

Must be something in the water.
  • I've known OH for many years, first time we met was when his friend (my housemate) brought him to our house and he kicked my bum on the PlayStation :)

We re-met through LARP about three or four years ago.

Met in a pub through mutual friends.

Have been thinking about this recently (may well be single again soon) and I'd definitely give online dating a go. Most of the people I meet through social activities, work etc are female so if I did want to meet someone else I think I'd have to make the effort to actually go looking. Probably need to sort out what's going on with my current relationship first though!

I met mine at Salsa dancing. He went to find a girlfriend actually and I just went for a night out and to keep fit. Once we got together he stopped going, but I continued.

We are all sat in front of a PlayStation ;)

I have to say, most of my time is either at work or looking after the wee one since I don't get a weekend off. I realise this is not helpful information hah.

I am not sure about dating at work though. I wouldn't personally, if something goes wrong or even if there has been a row, people can tell and the atmosphere comes with you. Never a good thing and I honestly believe some time apart is never a bad thing!

As for your activities, sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. I don't think the quad bikes etc is bad at all. I would call it a spirit of adventure and more interesting than someone who just wants to do the same things all the time.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • I met my husband on a blind date. We have been married for 43 years.

My son met his partner in Games Workshop. He couldn't believe his luck that he'd met a girl who liked Warhammer as much as he does!

Other couples I know have been childhood sweethearts, met at Church or on the beach at Torremolinos. A couple have been tutor/student relationships. I also know one or two who met at work (in one case while they were both serving with the army in Afghanistan).

Got mine out of the newspaper in the days before internet dating was popular.
