I've sent my letter asking for a list of charges to Lloyds CC and either Royal Mail have lost it or Lloyds have refused it. Either way, it's not been delivered.

    What do I do now?

Bloody pains is what lloyds are.

I got my charges letter, no problem. Sent of the first letter and got the standard response. Sent a second one with a seven day request for a partial settlement, but nothing has been heard yet. They do still have until monday to agree to that before I take it to the next stage...

thing is I was claiming under hardship and they havent even asked for any financial statments for proof. Just not even bothered despite me stating it on both letters.

Guess on monday I start the next stage.

  • Hi All

Forgive me for this post, as I am sure it has been much-discussed, but it is such a long thread I don't quite know where to start.

My husband has banked with TSB..then Lloyds TSB, for years and years. He has a 'Select' account with them, and over the years has accrued a substantial amount in bank charges - I think the standard is £35, or at least it was...

I have been trying to convince him for quite some time to go down the 'reclaim the bank charges' route, but he is very reluctant to do so, he feels that LLoyds will close his account and he will struggle to find a bank account elsewhere.

Can anyone offer some insight into what the result might be should he attempt to claim it back? I understand from reading some of the threads that LTSB are one of the worst when it comes to any kind of complaint! Also, does claiming render you unwelcome to other banks?

I've had bank charges off them myself, but nothing incredibly substantial as I don't have an OD, that said they charged me £35 once for an unpaid direct debit (shy of £2) when there was money in my other Lloyds account...

Thanks for reading, this site is fab!!:T

    Kind regards,

    Hipsy x
  • They cannot close his account as that is part of the FSA Waiver. Get him to open an account with another bank first and then he has a back up and that he knows that if they did close the account(they won't) that he has another account he can rely on.

  • Hey everyone, I got a response from Lloyds TSB after threatening them with court action, they just sent me too many damn "we're going to need a little longer to look at your case" letters!

They'vce offered me the £12 difference, plus interest which amounts to £84... Which isn't good enough seeing as I'm claiming £225. They've said the £84 will appear as credit in my account within 5 days and I know to send them the next later accepting the £84 as part payment but I intend to pursue the rest etc.
But, one of the charges they added to my account was a £15 administrative fee, the bottom of my letter from Lloyds says

"I note that you've asked us to refund an administrative fee, which was applied in March 2004. As you may be aware, the OFT's ruling does not apply to fees such as this, so we haven't included it in our calculation"

Is that true? Does that mean that if I wish to continue chasing the rest of my money I'll have to recalculate what I'm owed but minus the £15 admin fee and the interest attached to it?

Did they tell you what the £15 admin fee was for?

hi everyone i myself and claiming back from lloyds and yes they are bending the rules to suite them so plz do the same as me and get even wat they forget to mention if you phone the financial ombudsman on 0845 080 1800 and let them deal with the bank that likes to say NO

Nope! In the list of charges that were added to my account it just says Admin Fee: £15. It lists the date it was applied to my account but doesn't give any other information. What do you think?

If you don't go through the complaints process all the FOS do is send the complaint to LloydsTSB to look at firstly before they will take on the claim.
