  • Wow... You MSErs make me tear up all the time!!

I read a lot of Diaries as inspiration to keep me going and the number of times you all make me tear up. You are all lovely people and Beanie you are definitely one of the very special ones :)

    October xx
  • Good morning everyone! I agree this MSE world seems so much nicer than the RL. My son's fiance is a petite and beautiful thirty year old who has three life threatening disabilities which are invisible to others. She has the badge as well but at least once a week someone accuses her of lying or forging the badge. So cruel and officious!! My son has some smart answers for them though.

The idea of archery seems really good. I wonder if the Olympic team website has links to information after the success of the games. A bit left field but I love researching!

I hope Arsesos actually agreed to grant you what you are so clearly entitled to Beanie. Have a good Sunday and keep plodding. That's what I'm doing today. I can't wait til I go four days a week next September. One of my major frustrations with my mental health in the past is the gap between knowing what I was capable of before the initial breakdown in my late twenties (I was a real career girl in terms of promotion etc) and that potential being limited by my wobbly brain. I'm financially a lot poorer and see people excel in positions I know I have the brains and skills to do.

Now though at the tender age of 48 I have suddenly turned a corner and accepted it. Part of this has been through repeated experience of pushing myself too hard and then breaking down again as a result. So I am quietly excited about looking after myself kindly, having a steady, enjoyable, simpler life, growing vegetables again and calling down.

By the way I found out that my previous school has taken on three teachers to replace just me! I think we can safely say they were taking the something with my workload!

Sorry I've rambled on about myself!! Love to you all. Xx
With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

How lovely to find a potential solution to the immediate problem through mse, beanie :)

And on a selfish note, interesting to see that hopefuljoy is in Sussex :D
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Ah yes, West Sussex. That mystical land where the weather is two degrees warmer but the living five times as expensive!! I have lived here most of my life but have sometimes considered going up north for a far better cost of living. I don't want to leave family though and am generally a happy bunny. Xx

I never understand what people are trying to achieve by that. The "professional" blue badge abusers are not going to be bothered in the slightest by someone challenging them.

They don't seem to like being prosecuted though.

What would you be researching? It's best to go to a real shop and get the bow set up by someone who knows what they're doing. I had the feeling it was going to be harder than I would have thought, and it turned out to be that. It turned out about £10 more expensive than getting it through t'interweb, but it was worth it.

I'm in a similar position, especially health-wise. My mind is strong, but the body crumbles. I'm hoping to last at work as long as I can, then retire early. Though I am younger than you.

I have money and can live cheaply. Once I get a house bought, it'll be even more cheaply.

Especially if I buy a camper van and rent the house out... :D
