On another note it is so nice to realise that there are other people who worry about the same things I do.
My dealing with the ever lovely A$os just knocked me so much that I have struggled so much since then not to worry about anything & everything.

El~~Yes have something like that to help with upper body strength.

I got something like this to help with my upper body strength after my recent illness.

Does help if you have a little bit of a garden though - definitely not an indoor thing...

Well that's an open question El... ;)

I find it fun, although I'm a bit crap at it. But I probably find things fun that you'd be  at... ;)

It seems to. I can hold the string back without wobbling quite a lot longer now, but the huge bulging muscles still haven't arrived - alas.

Strangely, it's not really - at least for me. If you hold your arm out right now like you're holding a bow, you'll feel quite a strain on your left shoulder. But what you're forgetting is the string. With a bow string pulling back, your left arm is under compression, your back is under compression, your right upper arm is under compression. The only part under tension is your right forearm (assuming you're right handed).

It depends on the nature of your problem with them. Also don't forget that when you let it rip (the arrow ;)) all the compression goes away quite suddenly - I don't know if that would be a problem.

And there's another open statement... ;)

El~ will ask my yoga teacher who also teaches archery about if it might be ok for you.

I have had a lovely offer from another MSE~er about a walker so am considering that. Makes me want to cry just thinking about how kind & lovely some people are.
The other day I was parked in a blue badge space & my badge had fallen down. This man came & shouted abuse. Some people are so lovely~~not:rotfl:
