Enjoying_life_more wrote: »Only just found you have a thread - thanks for all your words of encouragement on my thread !! I empathise with your words on your first post about always worrying about not being able to pay your mortgage and the consequences of that- I am single so only one wage coming and since hitting my 50's this worries me more and more. My wages have recently took a drop so the overpayments I can make will be minimal but im going to try and cut down even more - like you say even if its a pound or two overpaid it's worth it. Hope you are okay and I wish you well on your morg free journey

What a lovely post. You & I seem to have a similar journey~~in 50's & single & reduction in income.

Hi Beanielou :hello:
Don't feel down. You can do it. I know how it feels to just have to wait. I feel like my whole life is on HOLD at the moment until I can find a new job and know what money I will be able to play with. It's very frustrating. Having said that, the lovely people here keep us going so we can get through the slow bits together with some humour and good friends

Another wishing to sign up for the single / one wage / worry support group!
Bah it's Friday!
No change of any more over-payments here (think I managed 1 last year) unless the pets stop needing to go to the vets ..... over £200 in the past month
Anyone ventured outside recently? If not - don't!
It's absolutely baltic out there!
It was sooooooo cold I turned back 1/2 way around the park as I was absolutely freezing (and I generally don't feel the cold too much) - poor dog isn't impressed & is sitting whinging at me now as she wants to play *sigh*Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

What did we talk about a year ago?
nice oneyou getting powered steering this time ?
do you mean one of those walkers you can have a wee seat on when your legs get tired ?
something like this http://www.completecareshop.co.uk/mobility-aids/rollators-4-wheeled/rollator-walker-red-view-large/?gclid=CNqE-sC6mcMCFRMatAodQHAAUQ
if so i occasionally see them coming up for sale in charity shops etc ... i will keep my eyes peeled for you and if i find one pick it up for you and bring it over... might take me a while but then winter is here and its miserable so that gives me time to find one
and you will need it more for the summer anyway ( well the two whole days of summer we get lol)
it was an excercise thingy for your upper body which you could also use on your lower body something similar to this
http://www.completecareshop.co.uk/therapeutic-aids/pedal-exercisers/pedal-exerciser-view-large/?gclid=COztjdi5mcMCFcjLtAod4jsA6Q
not quite this one though the one you saw was much better and did more things
let me know if its one of those walkers and i will keep a wee eye out for ya xxxx1 -
Beanie - sorry you are feeling yeugh - its a horrible time of year! Post Christmas madness in work, still dark and cold and summer seems so far away! Aches and pains feel so much worse and its hard to get moving! (maybe that's just me!) Another singleton here and thinking about money and the future is a bit scary! But you are doing amazingly well and your mortgage is shrinking - maybe not as fast as you want! - but shrinking all the same!
Not sure where you are in the world but sometimes equipment comes my way so I will keep an eye out too - but I can't understand why you can't get one through your OT/Physio? Pardon me for interfering!!!1 -
Hello beanie, can I join the club as a junior member?! 48 single income, annulled marriage and dropping income as I can't cope with full time teaching plus perennially worried about the mortgage?!
I cheer myself up with the thought that every bit I will pay off means more equity in the house so that if I need to go to a flat or other one bed place in 15 Years time I will be able to and pay off the remainder of the mortgage.
I had no idea that you contend with limited mobility or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Can I add my pledge to look for equipment for you if ever you need it? After all the support you give it would be a priviledge.
Happy Saturday to everyone and please take.care in the wind and potential snow. XxWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!
Emergency fund £2474 post cat wee catastrophe!
