The myoff£rs competition site is offering a campervan as one of their prizes. If I don't get it for my offspring, I'd like it to go to you z.

    That's a very kind offer. :)

  • On the subject of Disabled Badges, I saw a post on FB that made my blood boil. I am sure if you have FB you will have heard of the pages called Spotted [insert town/city]. Its a way people can annonymously post things. I don't follow it as it has been a way for small minded people to have a go at other small minded people. However (I do have a point!) my friend follows it and occasionally it appears in my newsfeed. This particular post was a person with 3 children complaining that they were not allowed to park in the disabled spots at Mr Ts. That it was outrageous that disabled people could park in the parent and child spots but not visa versa. They then went on to complain that they could park on double yellow lines for 3 hours. Honestly, my mouth dropped open with the sheer selfishness of the person. What is wrong with people? I would be counting my blessings that myself and my children were all healthy and didn't need the disabled spots.

It genuinely worries me at the selfishness of people these days. I feel like it is getting worse and I worry about our futures.

Sorry Beanie, just wanted to get that off my chest.

People have been selfish *forever* which is why we have had laws *forever*.

However the person appears to be operating under the false delusion that the aforementioned parking spaces would become instantly available for her if only she could kick the disabled people out of them. However, if the special status of disabled parking went, the parent and child parking would be unsustainable too. Both "non-special" spaces would then be filled by everyone else. That woman would be getting what she asked for (the abolition of disabled parking), and the result would be that she would have to park further away than she does now (in the absence of child spaces). This is the exact opposite of what she wants.

We have a name for people like that. We call them "stupid".

  • Ahh Z, you do make me smile with your very sharp and witty insights. I'm not exactly sure what I would be researching about bows. It seemed like a rational thought at the time!

You're right about the snow ooop North of course but a girl can dream!! I have snow boots and positive attitude but no relatives up there so I am content to remain here.

I hope you all have a lovely evening and we are all left alone by small minded people with nothing better to do than carp about disabled badges and assume they can trample on us! Getting feisty down south!

Honestly, go to a shop and talk to them. They'll be able to give far more practical advice than a sport's body website. If you think they're just flannelling and trying to sell you what you don't need - don't go back.

We've got snow right now. It's not deep (for here), but if it happened in London, COBRA would be having hourly meetings.

  • What is this snow you are all talking about?

I'm a southerner. We don't know what snow is. Had a bit of ice though. Would prefer a bit of sun but then we'd still probably moan about that.

    Anyhoo.. Beanie how's things?

It's always the number of inches with you... :naughty:

There's about 3 to 4 inches of snow where I work which, like I said, isn't much. Main problem is the road outside my house melted today, then refroze when it got dark.

    My car isn't bothered.

My legs are very unsure...
