Have you got trickle vents? If so pop them open - it really helps. Actually. I've just closed ours as it's smokey and smelly, but will open them again tomorrow.
We have trickle vents but the cold air just whistles in (where we are it's nearly always windy) so I've got used to the condensation and stayed warm.

I lay doubled- over blue roll along the worst ones between the blinds/curtains and the window in the evenings, which soaks up the worst, and collect in the mornings.

BTW Bossy - don't know if you have a Dunh*lm near you as I have just found reasonable priced duvets there.

Poorly cat home.. he looks tired, very tired. I have told DD1 to come say goodbye tomorrow because I have to take him and DS1 wants to come with us.. which is great for me because it means I can hand him over and DS1 will be with him because I just can't.. I couldn't bear to just leave him with people he doesn't love. I don't want to distress him more than necessary. He is fast asleep in the dirty laundry at the moment.. If he moves I will put a waterproof pad under him.. just in case of accidents!

I was 'almost' taken in by an online scam.. thankfully I stopped just short of 'submit' after typing in card details, when my better judgement kicked in.. It would have meant Christmas done for DD2 and DD3 but never mind..

I need lots of help.. what do I get Moomin (12) Tiddles (10) and the 2 smelly boys? (nearly 16 and 19)

I'm sorting my nephew this week.. a small toy and some decent clothes..

We need some baby popping vibes for DD1 too please.. she is struggling to walk now and sleep and is just miserable, moreso than usual :p

I could do with knitting fairies to come do some of this cardy too and I need some time to dye yarn and fabric and get my sewing machine out.. so some time management/stretching/travel would be handy.. and a job/college for OH.. We need this a lot!!

  • Lame wolfvery true, I could have also got it on the pushchair!

All jobs dealt with yesterday but yet still feel like I have loads to do. The endless washing is driving me mad. My gorgeous ds2 is driving me mad and having to wash up is driving me mad. Ergh, need to snap myself out of this mood. It won't make today any easier being down in the dumps.

Does anyone else get down sometimes about the endless cleaning task? I just constantly clean and because all children are under 5 they really don't help keep it clean.

Sorry about kitten vanilla. And your cat pigpen. I don't have any four legged friends, but grew up with dogs and pets become family so I'm sorry it's time for your kitty to go.

Ooo baby popping vibes being sent! Will it be your first gc?

Yorkshirelass good luck re. Job hunt. I've also had a moan but it's made me feel better by just writing it down :).

Think my own list will take over the flying list today. Ds1 at preschool for the morning and ds2 has been up since 5am so should nap later.

Right better get up off the sofa
  • Good luck lame wolf for your app today. X

    Good morning.

Just been up to put the bin out for the refuse men. Come back to bed with a cuppa.

Bedroom and dailies done yesterday. Curtain pole got fixed.

Today it's shopping and lunch with DD.

    LW Thinking of you today.
  • Morning everyone.

    Catch up with thread time.
LW will be thinking of you.
Pigpen also thinking of you today - glad DS1 is going too.

Sticks spoons and posi -vibes for everyone else.

Last round of needle sorting , then vol job 1 this am. Had lovely walk yesterday - could have been on the Riviera! The view across the bay to the Langdales was absolutely stunning. Must do it more often.

My house is a tip - can't wait for tomorrow to get going properly!

Just about to put the washer on and a quick HHC or two then I'll be off!

Hi Looby Lou what a sad yet uplifting story (hugs). We are all on he organ donor register here. My late DH had cousins that had CF and one survived to adulthood and was lucky enough to get a double lung transplant just in time. It literally was life-saving.

Thanks for the dunelm mention. There is one en route to dunn3s with a cafe so we may come back that way. Well we are still sat here in pjs so I better go fnd us all some clothes!

  • Good morning :D

Pigpen - I keep reading that as 'baby pooping' vibes :rotfl: I hope the baby arrives soon. I also hope today is not too painful for you & your family, and that your poor puss is peaceful soon.

Looby Lou - thanks for your insight into this story. One of my school friends has a son that has had a kidney transplant. he now competes in the transplant games every year, although as I understand, he is not out of the woods yet.

I am working today, so flying today will mainly consist of picking up toys, clearing up paint (making firework rockets with loo rolls today!) and wiping noses!

I have already scrubbed the hallway carpet as I caught my cat peeing & pooping Grrrrrr!! She is doing it a lot, although she is fine in herself. I think a trip to the vets is due, although I keep putting it off :( (scared about what they may say)

Ok - I need breakfast before Bubba J arrives. catch up later

    Morning all

Hugs all round this morning I think.

For those struggling with constant cleaning, not enough time try accepting this is how it is, houses get used, they get dirty, we are lucky our lives are full of people making this mess. Do what you can, it will never end, give yourself the odd day off from it. I am now trying to get some flying done by lunchtime each day as I'm more productive in the mornings and then not worry about it anymore for that day. We all need to find our own way.

Bit tired as DS2 text just as I was going to bed at 10:50 to say trains all mucked up. Eventually got one from another station to another town which meant me going out at 11:45 to pick him up at midnight. DH offered but he had drank 2 bottles of beer and I'm one for zero tolerance with drink driving.

Condensation is a huge problem here too, mainly just for October/November. Openning windows and leaving open a bit helps. I often wonder about a dehumidifer, are they noisy? I hate electrical noise.

WM on, another load to do once DS2 is out of bed, his bedding. Going to have my shower, wipe up all the condensation and then hit the morning flying.

LW I hope you are as calm as can be this morning, thinking of you sweetie.

Piggerslove and strength for you all, been there, it sucks but we know it is the kindest thing.
