I've just started a new thread on PePiPoo about this. Spreading the word. 1,356 names already registered on https://www.challengethefine.com.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • I am sorry that I have not been particularly active on MSE.

I have other "big media outlets" that will be getting involved, soon, hopefully.

This will not be the last time this appears in the media, trust me!

I have had to use the BPA's "odd" industry figures to highlight the issue; use the word "fine" to make this accessible, et al.

Public momentum is key for this.

I must thank Bargepole for his excellent help. He's been truly invaluable. I will email you soon, if you're reading this ;)

Social media sharing is how this will work. Stand or fall, it comes down to that.

If this goes through will I be able to use the hospital car park near where I work for free instead of having to pay for parking nearby?

no , you will have to pay the parking cost per hour/day , this is about "fining" (joke) people £100 for what was a shortfall of only coppers/pounds if you overstayed

    I sincerely hope not.

For me this has always been about the 'punishment' not fitting the 'crime', not a fight to allow people to abuse the parking that's available, whether that's at a hospital, in a supermarket or outside a block of flats.

If they cannot "fine" me, what is to stop me using the car park though?

Well if there's no barrier how about some form of moral compass?

    Indeed!

He has been a great help since the idea of PTAS was first sown and has helped me a lot every since, taking my calls and giving me pearls of wisdom on a regular basis!

this is the basis of the court claim , NO private company can fine you. they can only charge you for causing inconvenience, ie: whilst you were parked , they could not get the parking fee off a new customer. therefore you owe for there loss , which is the money they did not get from the new customer]

    NOT £60 -£100 !!!
