  • Evening all, way too many fireworks here tonight, I've only just managed to peel the dog off me, he's now sleeping sounding so fingers crossed they are done for tonight...eeek spoke too soon:mad:
A couple of UU to report:
    LUSH Cinders ballistics
Neal’s Yard Seaweed and Arnica Foaming Bath

My Christmas sale stash is not going down very quick, seems I won't be allowed much in this years sale:money:at this rate I'll just be getting some LUSH. Think I have enough of everything else to last me the year:eek:
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Hi everyone,

Have a few UU's and a few Ins

    INs
I treated myself to the Molton Brown bath & body treasures collection when the £10 off & free del vouchers were going round so have a few INs there! They're all 50ml shower gels and body lotions but it won't take me long at all to use these unfortunately! I'm enjoying using them though, definite treat after using up all my shower gels and body lotions!

    UUs
bNatural baby body lotion - WNBA, not sure if you can as i've never seen it since. Bought this for my son when he was a baby (he's now 5) so I started using it just to get rid of it. Was quite a nice body lotion except the horrid 'unfragranced' smell IYKWIM

Lancome Renergie Multi-lift moisturiser - WBA - really liked this as it was so moisturising and make-up went on beautifully on top of this, also smelt amazing. This was only a GWP sized pot but lasted well. It's pricey and I don't really need anti-wrinkle cream yet so not sure about a repurchase but i'd love to, so we'll see.

John Frieda brilliant brunette shampoo - WNBA - was only any use when combined with another shampoo, didn't do anything for my hair on it's own at all.

Frizz-ease leave in conditioner - WBA - liked that this was a leave in spray as well as heat protectant. I've used this for ages so i've forgotten what my hairs like without it. I'll see if it makes a difference before repurchasing.

I've got a few splutterers so hopefully a few more UU over the next few days :T

This is a really interesting read.

I think for me, the problem was that I would buy something which 'promised' to be the next best thing, the holy grail of hair conditioning/wrinkle reducing/lip plumping etc etc, I would fall for it, buy it, and then use it once and hate it.

I think this thread is allowing me to identify what I really do enjoy using and what is worth buying again. I am beginning to realise what products work for me, my skin, my hair etc, and only buy those ones again, therefore saving money from not buying all the 'hyped up' stuff.

Plus, I find it quite empowering not to buy something until the previous one is used up :rotfl:

I'd agree with this. I had so much stuff stashed and I didn't even realise I was doing it! Whereas now once i've got down the stash in certain areas i.e. shower gels/shampoos etc i'm only buying stuff I REALLY want and love and know i'll enjoy using, rather than using something up because I want to get rid of it.
I'll always try new things but i'm trying to do a bit more thinking before buying:A

Absolutely! I bought a new deodorant because it was on special, but I hate the smell of it. Previously, I would have just chucked it to the back of the drawer and bought a new one, but now I'm of the mindset that I should just suck it up and use it.

Not a huge money saving change in the big scheme of things, but a huge turning point for me!

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • Not totally toiletries related but just been logging all the seeds I have for growing next year 170 plus packets:eek::eek::eek::eek: just how many years are those going to take me to get through. Granted most of them cost 10p and friends and family grab me some too when they see them reduced. So far I seem to have a problem with storing, not hoarding:p

    Toiletries
Seeds, plant pots, labelling bits, canes and string
    Staionary
Alcohol- always wise to have plenty of that in I say
    Chocolate- likewise lol
    Shoes

Trouble is all these things can be so expensive, I hate paying full price for things and when they are reduced to stupid prices I stockpile one or two:money:Its kinda hard to know what's a sensible number to last until the next bargain isn't it! Oh dear what are we going to do with ourselves:eek::eek: Lol its no wonder I never feel like there's anything worth spending my money on, I have it already, so I 'store' my wages too:beer:

I'm the same with things, I buy several when the offer is good, I only started doing this since the recession, before that everything was pretty much full price so it was never a problem, you should see my stash of pancake mix and Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces:rotfl:.

    I have a uu

Ren Frankincense Night Cream 15ml, I have opened another one straightaway, WBA, I really like this.

    Morning all:D
Typical November day here today, foggy and chilly, hoping it will lift later, haven't been on my bike for ages and promised myself a few laps round the houses at least today.

A UU to add to my list

60ml Jessica Phenomenon Oil, this and Solar Oil are my two HG nail and cuticle oils. Normally my nails suffer from breakage badly in the Winter, but I now have a bottle of oil by my bed, in sitting room and in bathroom, I think I need to make myself a little star chart in order to keep up the impetus:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I splurged on the Sensationail offer at B**ts. I have squillions of bottles of NP, so I have for the last few days, tried wearing colour over the gel base/top coat. so far so good, nails are not bendy and fragile, it gives a nice base for the colour and does seem to be helping with the wear. I have not tried a S'nail gel colour yet. So far I have tried LD Starkers and now LD Hello Dolly in this way.:D

Not I UU but I did TA (is that the right acronym? Throw Away?) my L'Oreal RevitaLift double-lifting eye cream.

I've had it for years... since I was 15, I think*? Only used it intermittently because I'm really really horribly bad at keeping up with that sort of thing and kept forgetting about it! Anyway this challenge reminded me so I dug it out last night only to find one half had dried up entirely and was dead :(

WNBA - From what I remember it's a good product (do they even still make it?) but I'm so terrible with routines like "apply this thing every day" that I'd never use it if I did!

*It's a family trait that we have 'excess skin' under our eyes from having large eye sockets and high cheekbones that a) make us look like we have massive bags all the time and b) cause deep lines right across the cheeks. You can already see my nephew developing them in photos. He's 2. I didn't just start using anti-ageing products really early for no good reason!

Edit: omgomgomgomg I can post links now I have been waiting for this day forever

  • I am really struggling at the moment, feeling a bit of over the shop with illness, antibiotics, tiredness, and of course my answer to all of this is to whip my credit card out. I have had to stop myself clicking submit on a My little box twice this weekend, despite not having a clue what is in it and having far more than I need in every area of the stash!

I haven'y yet started using my lacura eyebrow pencil, but it's already exceeded its value to me. It came in a box with ap pencil sharpener, which I chucked in my bag one day knowing my current eyebrow pencil was flat. Best makeup pencil sharpener Ive ever used, and I've gone through an awful lot of them over the years. I hope the brow pencil is good, because I can see me stocking up on these for the sharpener alone! Last one I bought was the Champneys sharpener for £3, the little plugs that prevent all the bits leaking out broke almost immediately, and it just wasn't sharp enough, unlike this little beauty!

I have one UU Sanctuary leave on exfoliating cream 10ml, part of the sanctuary facial box I bought last christmas. I have quite sensitive skin, not only did this not make me react, but it left my skin beautifully soft. WMBA.
