Personally, I'm shocked to see how this forum has evolved, some of the regulars have a few weeks off, and you come back to a total mess....

To the regulars
Whilst the a single thread is convenient for the regulars (or so you say), it creates a monster thread dozens or perhaps hundreds of pages long with meandering topics.
To the newcomer the thread itself becomes relatively useless and uninformative: must we read all 85 pages of the Easyjet one, for instance, to find some nugget of truth when that could have been more easily with the use of good thread titles?
Some answers are not in the FAQs, and are generic i.e. could/should be of interest for claimants against all airlines, not a specific one.
I appreciate that some of you make a valuable contribution with your knowledge, and this is therefore "your patch".
A good title, and staying on topic make the forums maximize the value of the data IMHO. The "mega-thread" is the opposite of that.
Wouldn't it be better to get sub-forums? Or is MSE opposed to that?0 -
None of the regulars, have any thread movement powers, so the board gets cluttered, sometimes with the same questions!
Here are a few common ones:-
The airline has offered me a voucher instead of cash, can I get cash?
the airline says it's an extraordinary circumstance can I claim?
Should I write to the CAA or go to Court?
what does go NWNF mean?
What's Vaubans guide, how do I get it?
That's just a few, and nobody expects anybody to read hundreds of pages, although I've read the Jet2 one myself, the last few pages often will reveal the answer.
Because regulars subscribe to a particular thread, then it means we get an email alert to say that there's a new post.
I personally don't read or answer any other threads, I don't see them. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

So overall, the regulars here are probably fighting a losing battle.0 -

Difficult, isn't it? What we need is a clear sticky - with a clear guide on "How To", plus a FAQ on most of the repeat questions. And then folk can be free to ask whatever they like - and others free to refer them to the FAQs. The whole thing here though is a real mess - tough to find answers for new folk, and frustrating for regulars who don't want to keep repeating themselves. But the MSE folk take almost no interest in this forum unfortunately.0
