    geordie-joe,
I would check whether there's a penalty for ending your current contract early and compare with likely gain if you jump now. Also, MSE may come up with another offer in the future.

My EDF one has no penalty for ending early.

Thanks, there is a £30 penalty for leaving early, which is why I am asking the question. If there was no penalty, or it was only a fiver I would be gone by now.

I'm i missing something here?..can someone explain to me how

"E.ON MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Switch"

    is apparently cheaper than

    "E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v12"

And what are the differences between them other than per kWh is higher on the MSE one shown on this site?

    Thanks.

As far as I can see the MSE offer is 11.350p per kWh
and the E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v12 is 11.498p per kWh.

The MSE offer mentions EON Reward Points equal to £15 in Tesco points and the other one just mentions EON Reward Points with no mention of how many.

The MSE one says I will save £55/year £5/month and pay £21/month

    While the v12 says I will save £52/year £4/month and pay £21/month

And my calculator says something completely different!

Notice how Gas is more per unit with the money saving experts "E.ON MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Switch" compared to "E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v12"

3.497p per kWh as opposed to 3.434p per kWh

This 10 day switch is during winter, which would mean a Winter to winter contract , two periods where gas is used more often.

It's not winter yet! It's not even cold yet!

It is a one year contract, so that makes it a just before winter to just before winter. Only one cold period where gas is used more.

It does take a couple of months to move over but agree it isn't a good time to come out if the contract next year

Can anyone tell me how long it take to switch using CEC? Switching from another provider to E.on.

My current fixed contract comes to an end on 14 Nov and I intend to leave that supplier at the earliest opportunity.

Can I start the ball rolling before that date, or should I wait until the contract has ended then switch?
As the fix is ending you could have set the ball rolling 3 October without being charged. Suppliers are no longer allowed to charge exit fees near the end of fixes. Plus your fix prices should be extended beyond the end of the fix until the actual switchover date.

Thank you Nada, that's even better than I hoped for.

...I've had the email from EON today - says quite clearly 14 days to cancel after switch agreed -so way after your fix ends anyway.:)

    Submitted my application to switch from E.ON 1yr v5 to E.ON 1yr MSE1.

I'm a heavier electricity than gas user, so it worked out cheaper than their new v12 offering.

My current tariff is due to end on Dec 15th/16th, can anyone tell me if I'll need to pay the £10 exit fee if I'm not actually changing providers? And/or does this mean I won't get the £30 cashback?
