A fair point but that doesn't mean that they were right in saying that or that the OP shouldn't take action against their boss, just that they should do it through a union instead. So Woodster76, my advice would be (if you can), to join the union that was suggested and put in a complaint about both your boss and HR.

Well I had a phone call this morning from my dr's surgery to say my medical report is ready! Well I thought this had already been sent out since I've already had Occ Health telephone consultation last Friday. Grrrrrr. What are they playing at? Can someone tell me as I feel a complaint to HR brewing up.
Couldn't sleep last night so got up at 4.30 and went out food shopping. Thought I would batch cook a beef and mixed bean chilli and ham minestrone (my version) which I hope to do in a bit. Just cooking the gammon ham. Something healthy and filling for when I'm working evenings. Done some washing and was going to cut the grass as I heard someone else do this at 9 this morning but we don't seem to have any petrol in the mower.
Hope everyone is having a good morning.16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

Washing nearly dried before it started raining, Batch cooking done and all the washing up done. Just waiting for hubby to come home and we'll probably watch a bit of The Walking Dead Season 3 tonight.

Woodster .. sometimes everything just becomes really overwhelming.
Take a step back and really consider what in your list of worries deserves to be sorted first.
Work on that only.
solve that and then work on the next most important worry.
But in the meantime start looking after yourself and stop beating yourself up.
There will always be things out of your control , like arrogant managers , cars that need replacing but that's not your fault .
Stop taking sole responsibility for things you can't control and talk to your husband. You are a team , in it together for the long haul.
You sound like you are trying to do too much
No one is superhuman, we all like to think we are and always imagine other people handle life so much better than we do.
They don't..

Thanks cavework. Yeah I do feel overwhelmed sometimes and feel there's not enough hours in the day. I do need to set some time aside for myself to concentrate on me without feeling guilty about the things I haven't done. Work in progress.
It was my birthday yesterday. Spoilt by Hubby, I actually think he went a bit OTT with the presents. Money from parents and MIL which I haven't got a clue what to spend it on. Because my mum will ask what I've spent it on.
Hope everyone is ok.16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

Been a busy couple of days.
Manager phoned to request meeting after receiving med report. So I saw him and HR yesterday. All calm, HR must have a good word with Manager. A plan has been put into place for my return on the 10th with a rigid plan for training in place. I've requested again for them to look at my annual leave entitlement. And also to look at my September wages as again I've been underpaid. Plus we've had a pay rise in October.
I've had my induction today for my second job. Very long day, but very interesting. Not felt tired like this in a while. I've had confirmation of pay so just need to do a few sums with regards to tax and Ni I should hopefully have a guestamate of net take home pay. Also need to find out when they get paid next. All I know it's 4 weekly.
Plan for tomorrow - relax. Have a think about what I need on my last few days off.16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

Lots has happened. I started my 2nd job yesterday. It was ok. Working on a meat and fish counter but made me feel a bit Squimish. I don't think I'll ever buy meat from that place again. But everyone is nice (apart from a bit of !!!!!ing) and made me feel welcome.
An hour ago I've been offered another job which is 5 mins from home. Same number of hours offered, but less hourly pay but will use less petrol and wear and tear on the car. Plus the hours are better as I won't be working really late, I hated driving home at half 10 last night and with it getting colder it would cause hubby to worry, so I think it would be better to take this job. plus it's a job I want to do on checkouts. Letter to confirm everything will be in the post.
Now it's letting the other job know I won't be coming in again. But I have to think what's best for me.16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

Back in work today since September. I hadn't even gone through the gate when one of the nights employees beckoned me over. The manager has been given the push. Think they agreed for him to resign and will be gone in a couple of weeks. I must say when I spoke to Manager today he was less arrogant and cocky with me. Though I'm still waiting for a payment they owe me.
Spoke to temporary manager and from what he is saying extra hours should be available as the business needs it but current manager said there was nothing in the budget. So maybe just maybe he'll speak to the those who are higher for more money and I'd get those extra hours. Like the new temporary manager he was very understanding and said I can knock on his door anytime.
I'm on a phased return over the next two weeks so I'm off tomorrow. Need to sort out my debts and start planning how I will pay this back.

Have you been able to get any treatment for your anxiety? If you're struggling with NHS waiting times for therapy, there's a charity called Anxiety UK who provide means tested reduced price therapy with only a two week waiting lists at most. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just thought they might be of use. I'm in the process of organising to have treatment with them myself and they've been very helpful so far. They answered my e-mail in under 5 mins. Then again, with your boss leaving, maybe you'll be lucky and your mental health will go back to normal. I just thought I should mention it though as I know from experience that anxiety caused by a bad boss can linger long beyond your time working with them. I hope it's not the case for you though.
