Yes, pedestal mats to match the bath mats, both of which are changed and washed regularly.

Bath mat lives over the bath when not in use. I think the bathroom looks a bit odd without the pedestal mat, probably as the loo is right in front of you when you open the door.

The idea of pedestal mats - and the need for then - is gross.

Fellas, sit down when you use the loo!

My OH sits and I find it horrendously cute (no idea why) and means that we never have any nasty splashes, or to have to put the seat down :D

I have never understood why men who have problems aiming don't just sit! Probably because they are not the ones having to clean the bathroom.

I haven't seen a pedestal mat for years. I had no idea people still used them. I did see some toilet seat covers in a store the other day. The fabric on some extended all the way under the toilet lid. Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk!
  • I come from a long line of bathroom carpet and pedestal mat users (yuck!) and I always presumed pedestal mats were for catching...wayward drips in the days that carpeting was common.

As our bathroom is now (thankfully) tiled we don't need one - if he's that poor a shot he can get the mop out!

We do use a bath mat though to save slippage. Given that my OH can barely wait until the shower has stopped running to step out of it, I'd end up with a wet room without one.
    Progress not perfection.

Spendless I can tell you from experience that spilled bleach will do for it!

I was just about to say the same thing.

Personally I can't stand bathroom mats, I see the amount of hair and dust that I wipe from the floor when I clean it, to think of that all in a mat gives me the heebie jeebies.

We so have a bamboo bath mat which is wipe clean to save the bathroom floor when we get out of the shower, or step onto a towel due for the wash too sometimes.

It is during the training phase that they are needed ;)

    Nope nope nope!

Hubby is a spasher, also have a rescue dog that used the bathroom floor occasionally. Easier just to wipe, disinfect, and mop.

Now you mention it not many people have pedestal mats these days. They don't really look right with some modern bathrooms.

Our toilet is not that modern so the pedestal mat doesn't look out of place. I do draw the line at toilet roll dollies. My aunt still has one of those :rotfl:

I actually like the toilet roll dollies - way less hygiene concerns then floor mats (although hands and spray from toilet flush concerns me a little).

    Retro!
