  • Morning Mrs and Mr O,

You're not a mess! September hasn't quite gone the way I wanted either.

Fingers crossed for the balance transfer, that'd be a huge weight lifted.

    Have a lovely day xx
  • Hello!

Ok, first of all, MrsA welcome back to my diary and good grief at you reading all my ramblings. Hey Purplemum, thanks for the crossing of fingers!

It is October again. Hard to believe I first started to debt bust 3 years ago and I am in a worse situation now than I was. Having said that, I have reviewed the circumstances over the last few years and feel it will be a completely different story this time next year.

I have been accepted for the Tesco 0% interest card, I am just waiting for the rest of the information and the card to be sent. Not sure what I need to do to finalise the balance transfer so hopefully that will be done soon and I can stop paying £100+ in interest!!!

So my first couple of weeks on SW has proved successful and I have lost 7lbs! Just got to keep it up. Mr O and I made some great chicken chow mein yesterday and had enough for today's lunch. Need lots more meals like that!

We are on a tight budget this month but hopefully all will be well. Apologies for not keeping up with your diaries at the moment, life is rather busy but still not interesting enough to give some entertainment in my diary lol.

    Happy debt busting/saving!

    October xx

  • Morning Gorgeous People!

Soooo I managed to get the 40 months at 0% and the balance has transferred! It's shocking the level these companies go to though. I could in theory now get myself into over £18,000 credit card debt. It just doesn't make sense to me. I guess some people can live in debt every day and not worry about it at all. I wasn't brought up like that. I have hated every penny I have put on a credit card but had to due to lack of money to live on. Thankfully, although things aren't perfect, we are trying to live within our means and that is HARD.

I wanted Mr O and I to go away for a night next weekend to celebrate his birthday. He agreed, we were going to go but yesterday we re-evaluated. It was going to cost us nearly £100 for just one weekend and we just don't have that money available as we need to make sure the car bills are paid for. We decided to pass and have a meal out instead. We will go when we can save up and not put the cost on a credit card. Its decisions like these that are going to get us out of debt.

SW is going well. I was 3lbs off my first stone but weighed today and appear to have put 4lbs back on. Not too worried as I don't think it was food, rather than that time of the month for me. Getting used to preparing meals from scratch has been difficult but we are getting there. I am going to be cooking up some different meals in a batch this afternoon so that we have options in the freezer and have some quick options to grab. My goal is to lose 2 stone before Christmas. I think that is a reasonable goal so not to push myself too much or give myself extra pressure.

So on to some chores for the day! Sorting out mountains of paperwork this morning and batch cooking this afternoon. Then back to work and stress tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

  • Hello!

It's been a rough week. On Wednesday I took really ill at work with dizzy spells, headache and extreme tiredness. I went home and went to bed. Was off work then until today. I called the doctor and unlike down south, here you can't see them at all without going through the guard dog receptionist and the nurse. I was told to go and have blood taken on Friday and that was a bit of an ordeal. The nurse tried four times and got nothing so sent me to the hospital. They managed to get what they needed but not without another three tries. I felt like a pin cushion. Got a lovely black bruise for the privilege. Waiting to find out what is causing this. I am not very confident as they tried these tests last year down South and my results show nothing is wrong. They then tell me my tiredness and headaches are because I'm depressed or overweight. I am going to keep pushing them this time as I don't want to be fobbed off.

In other news, Mr O got a job!!! :j I am going to let him tell you about it as I don't want to steal his thunder.

The SW plan went out the window last week so I haven't weighed as I don't want to know the damage!! :o We are both back on plan this week and did some meal prep yesterday so we have lunches for the next few days. We are going to go swimming tomorrow but only for an hour as my energy levels aren't fully recovered and I can't take anymore time off work really.

Well hope all is well with you lovelies.

  • Hi Peeps,

I'm sorry that my diary isn't updated on a more regular basis. I have been trying to get more organised of late with meal prepping and shopping and spending money etc. I had my blood results back and everything is normal so had the usual diagnosis of "You need to lose weight". I did ask for an asthma test which the nurse kept telling me wasn't necessary and ended up being diagnosed with it! So I now have two inhalers which is making things easier with my breathing and sleeping!

I am still swimming once a week but now Mr O is employed we are considering getting a membership and start doing more per week. I am also keen to learn some yoga so might look to YouTube for some tips and tricks.

    Hope you are all well.

    Keep saving!

    October xx
