    Hi Everyone

Well today is going to be a NSD! Yay! :j

Work is extremely busy and struggling to keep up. Still managing to do the odd survey here and there and Mr O is doing really well. It’s sunny today and that lifts my spirits no end.

I need to start looking for a cheap campsite so that we can go camping in September. We put the tent up at the weekend and I can’t wait to try it out. Just got to consider finances. Spent a lot of money on grocery shopping yesterday but we now have a fridge and freezer full of food to last us a while. I am hoping we will just need the essentials such as milk and bread for the next week or two.. three if we can make it!

Had a shock when I checked my bank balances. Credit card had £67 in interest!! Hopefully will pay that off along with some extra when I get paid at the end of the month.

Not been able to catch up with diaries the way I would like but hopefully I will have some time this weekend.

  • Hey everyone

So i started on Prolific near the end of last week and though i have not been on there ever min of every day i have been popping on there regularly and I've managed to get up to £18 so far this month. So this is great for it makes up for my money short this month special seeing my selling online has been really dry so far this month.

Over the next week i will start to look into other websites like this one to see if i can get more money coming in :D I am feeling if i can get this going well each month i can hopefully take some of the pressure of my dad and say i do not need so much from him.

    Mr October
  • Morning All

Didn't have a chance to post yesterday. Work is chaotic at the moment and been feeling the pressure.

Finances aren't doing too badly. I have got to just over £10 on PA and with my car boot money, it takes me over my £50 target for this month :j.

To be honest, I am amazed as I honestly thought I was being a bit ambitious with that figure. If I can get a further £10 then I will be able to pay for our camping trip without using any of my savings or cutting back generally.

I didn't manage an NSD yesterday because I took DM for a cuppa at Mr S. I think she enjoyed the chat and time out. Not sure if I can manage an NSD today as I only brought a small lunch and don't think it is enough to satisfy me. We shall see.

Mr O is looking after our balances and as you see from his post, doing amazingly well at PA. I am super proud of him. It would be so good if he could stop relying on his Dad for support.

I want to look at other possible savings. I am trying my hardest to save the money my DM gives me so that I can put it towards the car bills in October. I need to find out what the best deals are for car insurance and cash back options. I also need to see if there are any other savings options or income generating ideas on MSE. I want to get these debts down.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

  • Have you looked at Market Research (focus groups) or Mystery shopping. Or there a number of apps that you can do tasks on for small amounts of money but every little helps (Roamler is one)
  • Well done on the survey results so far :T.

Have you looked at Nielson shopping pannel? I used to scan all my shopping and cash out for cinema tickets, but there were other options too. Also, pinecone research is hard to get in to but pays really well if they accept you Xx

  • Thanks Lucky,

We will have to have a look. I just did a £9 survey on PA and so my total on there is at £22.83!! I am going to use the money for our campsite fees that I have gained this month. It will mean the accommodation is pretty much free and we will only have to pay for petrol and activities. Food I am taking with me for the most part so not counting that as spends as we would have to buy groceries no matter where we were. I have been looking on Wowcher and Groupon for offers on activities and looking at Vouchers for a cheap meal out as a treat. I am also thinking of using my coffee points from Costa to treat us to a nice coffee on one of the days. I know I have enough for at least one medium coffee if not two little ones.

Just need to keep plodding as Beanie says. I am trying to make my holiday as cheap as possible and praying that nothing happens with the car this time!!

    Hi Linky,

Thanks, we are looking at those options. It really does make a difference!

Thanks Beanie! Not bad for the first month. Got to keep the momentum up. Been avoiding the scales as I don't think I have done very well on the lbs lost :(

Hopefully, I will be brave and have a look in the morning!

  • Hi Everyone!

So I braved the scales and had put on 2.5lbs! :( Definitely need to up my game on the weight loss goals.

Money is a different story. Got to work today and I have won a roll over on the work's lotto scheme. £66!! :j I have done some more surveys so also got £26.08 to come from PA. Adding those to my £40 from the car boot sale I have managed to generate £132.08 this month!!! :j :j :j

That should cover the holiday and some towards spending money! I can't thank MSE enough for helping me and Mr O bring in more income. If we can keep this up then we can really start paying off those debts. :)
