I would not go for flat as you are on a temp contract.
That is just me.

Hey Everyone!
Well we went for the flat and it is glorious. My aunt has loaned us all the money we need to move in and her and my DM are even buying us a fridge freezer.
I know it's not very money saving but honestly, my OH and I have been dreaming of our own place for months and me personally, years.
The job is still uncertain but as a temp, I spoke to my agency and they have assured me that should the position not be renewed, she will easily place me somewhere else. I am also waiting to apply for another more permanant role which if I got it would be £20k a year and would take tonnes of pressure off.
We will see how it all goes.

So for the last three weeks I have been either going swimming or to the gym three times a week. Hoping that it will increase my fitness levels.
This week has seemed exceptionally hard but I haven't given up. I am hoping I might have lost some weight but I haven't checked yet.
Hope everyone else is doing great.

Well done on your exercise! I've started going to circuits and doing parkrun and I swear it gets more difficult but I think it's possibly where your fitness levels are improving so you're doing more and pushing yourself without realising it. I would also suggest taking your measurements (I keep meaning to do this!) as sometimes the scales don't tell the whole picture!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)0 -
October? Are you ok? We haven't heard from you for a while. Hope all is going well. MrsT.0

Hello Everyone!
I know I have been MIA these past two years. So much has happened that I am not sure I will be able to fully update you all in one post. To give you a brief idea the following has happened;
I have changed jobs three times.
I have moved three times.
My debt has increased.
I have changed location by 300 miles.
So as you can imagine things have been very unsettled. My OH and I decided to move north for cheaper rent and more space and a better quality of life. It hasn't really worked the way we planned. We moved in with my DM and unfortunately she and OH didnt get on. I didn't get to save the money I had expected to save and we had to move out again. We then got evicted from the place we were renting. Terrible landlords who we think were on the scam.
I am now living in a lovely flat which is 1 bedroom and only costs £325 a month in rent! I have a permanent job working as a PA to the local Council directors and earn roughly £20000 a year.
Unfortunately OH hasn't been able to find a job and things have become incredibly tight. Our luck has been really bad. A good example is the small weekend camping trip we have just had. It was as cheap as I could make it and ended up costing a fortune as the car broke down and cost £510 to fix!!!
So I thought, enough is enough. It is time to sort out my life and my finances. Step 1, come back to MSE!
I will have a look at a cost breakdown shortly.

Hihi,
I will be getting paid on Monday so I thought a good way to keep track on spending would be to start with a new month. I am going to set myself some challenges and keep a record of all my spending in a small diary I purchased. I want to try and get 10 NSDs and see how much money I can make using ebay. It will be interesting to see if I can get some extra money together to pay off debts. I am also going to start my emergency fund again. I think having a £1000 emergency money is essential as I have been caught out too many times lately. I also need to prepare for car expenses in October. Lots to get ready for.
I will keep you all updated in due course.
Happy Saving!
