7roland8 - I cheated a little, I cut the gold card into rectangles and then just stuck a strip of my gaffa tape in the middle!
Yours must have taken you ages, it took me almost 30 mins just to wrap these two! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
I find present wrapping so relaxing. I move the coffee table out of the way, create my work space and start wrapping things like a mad woman!
I've got the only 2 presents I've bought so far, wrapped up and ready to go.0 -

Snap that's what I did too - rather than doing labels I plan on doing silver buckles for his brother.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I love this thread, even if it is making me feel like my wrapping skills are severely lacking.
I adore wrapping presents and have nearly as much fun picking out the paper and ribbons as I do buying the presents. Then I love to get a whole heap of gifts, spread everything out across the living room floor, put the Scrooged DVD on and get wrapping. I know that I should use up some of the many, many half-finished rolls of paper I have in the bottom of my wardrobe but I always end up seeing new ones which I love and just have to have
Does anyone know if any charities take part-used rolls of wrapping paper?0 -
Izadora - great idea to donate none used paper - I am sure schools would also like it for wrapping stuff for Christmas Fayres etc.
Like the Santa belt stuff for displays too so for next Christmas going to make loads of fake ones for under the tree. NOT MY PICTURE
I do fake presents every year to bulk out under the tree and then to be there after Christmas once all the proper presents have been given. But usually keep the same ones and they are currently is red and white reindeer wrap.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

But from my recent lurking on the festive threads, I'm obviously not the only one on mse who loves Christmas... so here goes:
Am I alone in really, really loving wrapping Christmas presents? As in, it's a highlight of my festive preparations to sit surrounded by a selection of shiny paper, possibly too much sellotape and a big stash of ribbons.
A lot of people seem to view it as a chore, so am I the odd one?
Would love to hear your thoughts! :rotfl:
I love it too I save all my wrapping until the tree is up have my Xmas music on and can sit there for hours, I don't know anyone else who loves it as much as I do and everyone has started there's just to get it done!0 -
I love this thread!

Question tho: anyone know where you can buy that really cheap tracing paper type paper we use to have in the 80s? Our stocking stuff was always wrapped in it and I'd like to use that for my children x0 -

Isn't it just greased proof paper?Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I think I know the sort of tracing paper you mean.....I haven't seen it for years except maybe as packaging inside shoes and things.....I think your best bet would be a single sheet thickness of white tissue paper0
