My enthusiasm for wrapping has waned over the past few years... I have been known to still be wrapping at 8am Christmas morning.
I used to have a theme each year - my favourite was brown parcel paper, done with doublesided sticky tape so you couldn't see the tape and then topped off with string and old fashioned parcel labels.
Nowadays I just choose 2 colours and off I go. Definitely no more doublesided sticky tape....EVER!!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -

MSE tip - if you have a costco card (I don't know if other wholesalers have this) you can get massive rolls of paper. I mean, massive. I've managed 2 Christmases so far with one roll and I buy a LOT of presents. Oh, and I still have half a roll left! I think it costs about £10 a roll, but it honestly just keeps on going!
Hubby and me had a "discussion" about the wrapping paper as he thought it too expensive and we worked out while walking round that even on 3 for 2 at e.g tesco, the Costco ones are not only cheaper but much better quality and as it's 36 metres, goes on for ages. (The rolls are about 8.50). I love the 120 sheets of tissue paper too and again, even cheaper than the likes of card factory and home bargains.0 -

Lol I love those papers with grid lines on the back, I'm a bit odd that paper has to be cut straight! I have been wrapping on and off but kids I usually do Xmas eve night with a film, while OH laughs at my need for neat corners and such0

I have a love/hate relationship with wrapping. When I have time and it turns out nicely then I can't get enough of it, but I usually get roped into wrapping that one present with a very awkward shape or being given the task at the very last moment (or when the recipients are in the next room -_-)[STRIKE]Career development loan (03/11/12) £4500[/STRIKE] Cleared 2.5 years early, saving £390

I've done all my wrapping
I want some more!
I really like the idea of decorating them with chocolate coins, candy canes, jingle bells and that sort of thing, but I just feel like the person is going to end up throwing the accessories away with the paper so it's extra cost on buying the bits that's just going to end up being wasted. I might do if I could get people to give me them back after, so I could use them again!
Anyone else find their pattern doesn't line up? I was seeing if I could match it up on a few of my parcels like I've heard some people like to do, but it doesn't line up on my paper.0 -
Chai - people rarely throw away candy canes and chocolate decorations! I've added those in the past. Any extras that look like tree decorations are usually appreciated too eg cheap bells (I cut up a garland of bells last year).
My parents are great - last year my mother loved the gift tag so much that she insisted on giving it back so that I can use it on this year's present! I keep any bits on presents I receive and recycle the following year - or keep in my Christmas "bits" box. I also collect bits off crackers and cards so I don't really end up spending much.

Am I the only person who re-uses wrapping paper? We buy the really nice, solid expensive stuff (after Christmas, in the sales obviously), then use the minimum amount of sellotape (ribbon is much better, also re-useable), to maximise amount of re-use. Cheap paper usually tears before the gift even goes to the recipient!
We also re-use gift tags - we're still recycling the ones we wrote as kids about 15 years ago!! Just hand them back to the giver after presents have been opened...0 -
Oh - I thought I was on my own. I love Christmas wrapping - well, everything to do with Christmas! I take a Big Yellow storage cupboard each November and put all my Pressies in there - I put beautifully wrapped empty boxes under the three - then a big trip on Christmas Eve to retrieve the real ones - so no-one including the adults is tempted to poke and feel! Love it! (costs about £20 or so - well worth it!)0
