October 2015 Weddings

  • I'm looking at a birdcage veil, so nothing to extravagant. I found a gorgeous one at a wedding fair but it was £170 and couldn't really justify that at that time. I'm having my hair down and curled with the sides clipped up, think I want little flowers clipped in aswell. Make up I want quite neutral so browns with a hint of gold.

    What are you thinking?

I'm thinking a fingertip length veil but I want it plain (no bling or satin edge) but my dress has some lace on it so I don't know whether I want a lace edging as well?

Makeup wise it sounds like I want a similar look to you and hair wise I have no idea! OH likes my hair down and curly but my mum would hate that. So I'm thinking a comprimise and having the top half clipped back in maybe a vintage, victory roll style? I did want to have a fairly plain crystal headband in but if I go for that it might look better with some kind of decorative comb. Guess I'll just have to have a play when I have my trial.

  • I think lace would look lovely, it would be difficult to know without trying it on with your dress though surely, that's what I'm a bit worried about.

We chose our wedding rings yesterday, I have gone for a platinum band with diamonds set in it and hubby to be has a brushed palladium one that's quite chunky. We pick them up in 5 weeks yay.

What's everyone else been up to?

Yeah it's difficult to try and visualise things going with the dress. I'll just wait till it's arrived and I start the fittings. Oh that's another thing, need to try and find some underwear to go under it. Will wait till a bit closer to the time though as I want to lose another stone before then!

You're rings sound lovely skintbuthappy81. The brushed effect is quite popular with guys at the moment apparently according to our jeweller, and it's what OH has gone for too.

We're going to our final wedding fair on Saturday, not that we really need anything but the tickets were free and who knows, we might find something we didn't realise we needed. Other than that, it's just a case of building up the savings till the next payments are due.

  • Hiya Ladies.

OH has also gone for the brushed effect on our rings.

Managed to go to a dress appointment yesterday after getting a text from the dress shop saying that they now have a “up to 75% off sale” due to refurbishment. This started on Thursday. (Was there the Monday for first appointment) and managed to find “the one!” Even more exciting, is that it’s a size 16!! (process of loosing weight) So I was already excited over that - Then, The manger came to me and said that they was prepared to knock a further £200 off if I secured the dress there and then! Which, I obviously did!

Last week we also managed to confirm our flowers, make up artist, DJ too.

We are however, struggling trying to visualize how we want to decorate our reception venue.
We’re having a relaxed do, No top tables, ect. OH and I are no where near artistic so should be fun!
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

Gald you managed to find the one PRINCESSX87, and sounds like you managed to get a really good deal too! We're not artistic either so I'm relying on our florist working with the stacks of props that the venue already has. Lots of candles are going to be involved, I know that.

Exciting news... I have bought my dress yay, I am absolutely in love with it, it will need a bit taking off the length but the rest fits perfect. I pick it up in 2 weeks :j

Nearly everything is sorted now, just need to sort out the suits and find a florist near the venue. (I'm sure there are more things that need doing but that's all I can think of at the moment)

Awesome! :D I wish I could get my dress that fast... had my first fitting today and I need to go back next month for another fitting! Hoping I don't have too many as it's a half hour drive to the shop each time.

Currently sorting out our save the dates- we're having personalised beer mats as our reception venue is a brewery.
