Glad you enjoyed your dress appointment Fuzzy_Duck! It must be exciting having it made especially for you. Regarding the photographer; I would cancel the cheque and find someone else. We had a similar thing with the band we originally wanted and then managed to find one that's better and cheaper!

Don't worry PRINCESSX87, I'm the only one with an outfit so far! And then it's just dress and shoes, need to find a veil etc. OH has decided what suit he want's but he just needs to order it. I've found a dress for my one bridesmaid (maid of honor really) on ebay that I might order. As for other money saving things we're not having lots of flowers, more just candles and some twigs really so saving money there. For invitations, someone designed ours online and my dad is printing them so that's saved us time and money that way.

Speaking of suits, all of the main men (OH, best man, my dad, OH's dad) are going to be wearing different coloured / style suits, is that weird? Basically OH wants to wear navy, as does his best man but hen my dad wants to wear grey and a totally different style and OH's dad wants to wear black again in a different style. I'm not too bothered about it but do you think it will look a little strange in photos?

  • Thank you ladies for the reassuring words! Now, I’m not so panicked.

RubyE- My OH asked me the exact same question yesterday. I have always known that the groom & supporting men wear the same and black suits! OH wants grey! I know that both the best men & my dad will want dark (navy - black) Men!

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing the strangeness of men! To be honest I'm only having one bridesmaid and OH is only having his best man so it should be ok. If we were having a larger bridal party then I might put my foot down and insist that they all wore matching but it's not really something that matters when you look at the bigger picture.

  • What are your colour / theme's ladies? We're having royal blue, white & silver, Butterflies & glitter!

We're looking at getting our rings tomorrow in the sales. A few places have at least 50% off at the moment so hoping to play one off against the other to get a bigger discount! Is that just wrong? lol

We're having silk / foam flowers and getting a quote from a shop for them tomorrow, Again they have competition as i have found someone offering to do what we want for £100. Cheapest on the market with amazing reviews.

Any heads up on cheaper bridesmaids dresses?

  • We are having an autumn themed wedding, so brown, gold, orange, reds, greens.
All the men are wearing tweed, my bridesmaids are wearing a bronze/gold colour. I'm not sure where to look for the dresses, there is a Coast outlet store in a designer outlet not far from mine so I may have a look there.

I wouldn't worry too much about what the men wear! You can easily tie them all together with the same colour accessories or buttonholes :)

Our colour scheme is purple and green and we have a bit of curiosity shop theme going on. It's not going to be terribly co-ordinated though. The groom and best men are wearing tweed (probably grey for the best men, but the groom will buy whichever colour he likes best). The bridesmaids are not keen on colour so we thought we'd put them in black dresses they can wear again. I'm considering black velvet as I think it goes lovely with tweed.

I paid the deposit on my dress this weekend, and that ended up being ivory and pale blue! :rotfl: It was beautiful though and very money saving- £500 for a made to measure wedding dress.

EEk that's so exciting Fuzzy_Duck, and such a great price for something that's a one-off.

Our colour scheme is traditional autumn colours with navy to contrast against it. The men are wearing a mix of grey and navy suits and my MoH is wearing a navy dress (when I can find one we both like!). All the flowers are oranges, reds, yellows, aubergine with a pop of colour. There might be some navy ribbon on the cake but other than that it's all a bit rustic and natural.

Nothing much to report here as most things are done! We did get the save the dates printed at the weekend and should be sending those out at some point this week. Spent the weekend hearing all about future SiL's wedding in June and her's couldn't be more different to ours. As long as she's happy with the day then that's all that matters.

  • Have now booked my dress appointment for 30th January and we have booked an appointment for our wedding rings next Friday :j

Really could do with sorting the marriage license out now, if we don't need to make an appointment we will try and get it done on Monday.

Yay, hope you enjoy your appointment! :D I also have one on the 30th- going back for my fitting then.

Having no luck at all with wedding rings as my partner is totally disinterested (and yet also super fussy when I make suggestions!) Really need to have a proper look round the Jewellery Quarter at some point. We both want rose gold so I expect that limits our choices of shop.

Hope you have fun at your dress appointment skintbuthappy81 and rose gold is becoming more and more popular Fuzzy_Duck so you might be lucky!

Save the dates have been sent and people have been giving good feedback on them. Think I may have decided how to have my hair and makeup so will book my trial for April when my MoH is around.

Quick question ladies; are you wearing a veil? Really want one but can't seem to decide on a style I like that would go with my dress. Guess I'll just have to wait till my dress comes in and I can try some more on with it.
