Thanks bbright. Not really in pain anymore and still going to at least one class a day.
Just got into work and my colleague noticed the difference and my clothes are baggy. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I train 6 days a week tops and that's only when boot camp is on and I do more than usual. Generally its four. You risk injury if you overtrain, you also get to a point where the benefits are lost, muscles grow and repair at rest, not when you work out. I teach classes and I'm a newly qualified pt and if anyone who did my classes trained 7 days a week I'd be advising them to have a rest day. Too much cardio also isn't the best, you want a mix of weights, hiit, decent nutrition and rest to get the best benefits. I used to do cardio six days a week, I soon learned that if I trained smart I'd get more benefits and more rest days.0

Half an hour a day. That's it. A different class every day too.
Warm up, adapting exercises when I can and a stretch afterwards.
Trust me. I'm not the sort to overdo exercise. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

There's no better feeling than an unprompted comment like that. The other good one I had the other day is getting clothes that were too tight and fitting in them.
This is a bit of a motivational tip, I have a dinner suit that I wore to a work Christmas do about 4 years ago when I was a bit slimmer. I had a clear out of my clothes about 9 months to a year ago and got rid of a heap that didn't fit/too worn out etc. and came across this suit. I was on the verge of selling it but decided to keep it as a kind of aim, to fit back into that suit. I tried it on again a couple of days ago (just out of interest) and I think it actually fits me better now than when I wore it.:j
Anyway, I've been really bad for going to the gym in the last couple of weeks since my final personal training session. I haven't been for two weeks BUT I have played 5-a-side football twice (and again tonight) so almost makes up for it. I normally play 5-a-side on a Thursday and was looking to continue going to gym on a Tuesday but alas, this Tuesday I was still feeling the effects of the weekend:eek:. Possibly go on Sunday though.
Gingernutty, be careful not to overdo it because it can be a big shock to the system if you suddenly throw yourself into it every day but keep up the good work and most of all, "enjoy" it.0 -

:T Well done. Definitely have a rest though!0 -
Hi there,
I'm looking to join Pure Gym in Sheffield. Does anyone have a referral code that they'd like to share please?
Thanks so much!0 -
Congrats on your weight loss and enjoying the exercise, thats half the battle.
If you're experiencing muscle soreness and fatigue from classes you should be having at least one rest day a week. Especially if you're on a calorie controlled diet.
If its truly a lifestyle choice instead of a passing phase, you need rest and recovery between intense sessions. If you're overweight you'll be putting even more strain on your joints.

Tortoise not hare
*Toes ground in embarrassed fashion*
Uh, tortoise mainly.
There's a cold going round, a very 'cough-y' which has floored me for almost a fortnight.
I'm not going back to the gym until I stop coughing and wheezing.
On the plus side, I've not put the weight back on, so that's something. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Good, and as it should be. Embrace your inner tortoise
I had two months off recently because of a bad chest infection. 8 weeks seems like a long time but no way in hell was I exercising whilst coughing my lungs up. I put on a bit of weight but now I'm back and enjoying myself getting sweaty again, it'll soon go.0 -
Embrace your inner tortoise
That should be a T-shirt slogan. :rotfl:
Up there with "I don't shave for Sherlock Holmes" (after watching the repeat of series 3). Although I prefer my naughtier, misremembered quote "I shave for Sherlock". Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
