I'm just about to spend loads of dosh updating our downstairs cloakroom.
Hey retired, how are you getting on?
I wanted a nice keepsake for them. The nappy was probably not so necessary though.
Nice to have an updated cloakroom!Happytogetdebtfree wrote: »Lovely idea for keepsakesI didn't know you did cloth nappies
I never did but friends have theres some lovely designs xx
Yes I use cloth, not so much these days, but still now and again. I will do when I'm at home again. There are some great designs out there, and it can be addictive!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Ooo which nappy? Is it green with a jungle theme? That may have just landed on my doorstep..... I'm more than a little addicted.

I muddle through although it is hard work. OH now has steroid induced diabetes.
Cloakroom is a mix of necessity and luxury. House is only 10 years old but unless I keep it updated if/when we sell should help it along. The luxury part is that I want the toilet cistern enclosed and an oblong sink in a vanity unit. It's going to be tiled from floor to ceiling and no skirting boards. No nooks or crannies easy clean for my arthritic knees :rotfl:
Might have to start bay of e again to help pay for it.0 -
Forgot to say I do read your diary but don't post very often. It was you that got me into selling my junk I mean collectable items.0

Hi jwil :hello:
Good to catch up and see that you're still plodding on and selling stuff..keep up the good work. I need my kids to list a load of collectibles this weekend..you have reminded me as I told them it had to be sold if they were to have any spending money for hols...
Cloth is excellent, we used w lot of prefolds..some of which I still use now for mopping up, and the covers lasted 5 babies....I loaned them out and eventually sold some too. Now you wouldn't want to do that with a disposable..:oMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Jwil,
Long time since I've been around but I thought I'd pop in and say hello. (By the way, I've started a new diary here.)
I don't believe I've congratulated on your exciting news - so congrats on expecting a lovely shiny baby Jwil :j. Hope you are feeling better than you were earlier in your pregnancy.
I see you are continuing to do an amazing job as always, will be popping back in more often now for inspiration. My own decluttering efforts have been, frankly, pathetic.0 -

Nope it was the Royal Wave. I picked it up from the sorting office this morning, it's a teenyfit and so cute!
Little jwil has a weenotions custom as well with his birthday on it. I'll do one for the new baby as well.
I'm definitely going to restrain myself this time, I've got plenty of nappies, so don't really need any more.retiredandskint wrote: »I muddle through although it is hard work. OH now has steroid induced diabetes.

Sorry to hear about your OH, it's never ending isn't it!
The updates to the cloakroom sound excellent. I don't have arthritic knees, but our bathroom is probably 40-50 years old  and cleaning around all the pipes and nooks and crannies is awful!retiredandskint wrote: »Forgot to say I do read your diary but don't post very often. Thanks retired, it's no problem, just nice to hear from you now and again"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Thanks BrizzleHope your kids got their listings sorted, spending money for hols is a good incentive!
I didn't use prefolds with little jwil, but I did buy a pack in the recent Aldi offer for Bambino Mio so will try them again.
There's a great market for used (non disposable ) nappies, so I'll be able to sell my stash when I'm finished with it all.peaceandfreedom wrote: »Hi Jwil,

So nice to hear from you again P&F, I've just spotted your new diary!
Thanks for the congratulations! Sickness has eased thankfully, but now have spd with a vengeance which is very painful, but still managing best I can.
My decluttering efforts don't seem to make a lot of difference, it's really frustrating! There must come a tipping point I'm sure."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hope everyone is doing well
Had a very busy few days.
Unfortunately the rage from last week did overspill, and the inevitable bust up with DH happened on FridayAll is well now again though, and some effort has been made with getting on with stuff. I have a big list of things to put on ebay.
We took little jwil out for the day on Saturday and I was in London on Monday so no real time for doing a lot.
Yesterday I had 30 ebay parcels to pack and post and another 4 items went overnight! So that is a lot of stuff gone again which is a relief.
I have booked a couple of days off later this month when little jwil will be in nursery, so hope to be able to get on a bit then. DH will be at work as well, so that will be a nice bit of time to myself.
People on ebay are annoying me as everI've got something on BIN with best offer thinking I'll take offers of 10-20% less. My price is not unrealistic, and in fact as it is, is a very good deal compared to the retail price. Yet still people are offering ridiculously low prices of a few ££. If I wanted that much less for it, I would have listed it for that much less! I've got auto decline up for less than a certain amount, but someone messaged me with a sob story, so wanted to see what they'd offered as if it was just a bit less I would have accepted. It was less than 1/5th of the listing price and in reality wouldn't have covered the postage alone as it's listed with free postage

Yes, I had someone last week-within an hour of putting something up for sale someone offered me much less than half the price, back and forth the offers went and in the end they didn't get it.
I also had someone buy something from me and then said it wasn't as described and wanted to send it back. I had to accept the return and ended up paying the £2.99 fee for the return. The bay said I could contest the return postage once I had received it back as it was exactly as described. Unfortunately, now I've got it back and spoken with the bay again, they can't refund the return postage. I have had the defect removed though. So I suppose that's something.GE 36 *MFD may 2043
