Jwil, do you think there's ever a chance that one day, in the dim and distant future, you might run out of things to sell ???? :rotfl:

Despite your excellent example, I've sold precisely nothing this year :o.

I really hope so P&F, I don't know where it's all coming from! The house never seems to get any better!

Now little jwil provides us with a steady stream of clutter as well, but hopefully that will reduce once the new one is here and outgrows a lot of the baby equipment.

You've made other progress with decluttering though so it's not like you've done nothing!

I must get some more stuff sorted and on ebay. I know DH has a big list of stuff for me to list, so will try and get that on as well. Especially as his stuff outnumbers mine about 100:1!

I'm off Monday and Tuesday next week so hope to get stuck in then, though I have family down, so may be distracted by visiting them as well.

I've got my 20 week scan next week, so assuming all is well there, will start sorting things out for the new baby.

I have boxes and bags of clothes, so I think I will go through them and only keep those that 'spark joy' or are inherently practical, so I will probably still get rid of some. I'm not bothered about the whole gender specific stuff, and hate the colour pink, so even if the new baby is a girl, they'll still be wearing a lot of little jwil's cast offs :rotfl: I will get some new stuff as well, I'm not completely evil :D

I bought a load of books into the front room yesterday to read/scan as appropriate. DH had the cheek to make a comment about it. I kindly informed him that every one of those books apart from one had been brought into the house by him, not me, so he could lump it! I'm sure they'll be out of the house much quicker than the several piles of newspapers and magazines that he's got in there

Well, it is rather a cheek for OH to comment on it when it's all his stockpile of books. And all the other stuff you are listing for him as well, honestly, I don't know how you get the energy to do it all. AND look after baby Jwil AND brew another baby Jwil!

Excited for the 20-week scan :j. With my kids I mixed and matched outfits and DS wore some of DD1's stuff (even if it flowers on occasionally :D). DD2 wore some of both the previous children's stuff :). It took me ages to shuffle all the baby stuff out of the house and I actually still have some things that I really should have got rid of - they are in the attic though, which is for another day entirely.

How are you fixed for taking maternity leave - will that all work out OK money-wise or will you go on an even more concerted ebay-selling spree?

They are my books, but he brought them home for me rather than me buying them.

That annoys me more than anything though - his stuff is what is cluttering up most of the house, but if I leave something lying around he ALWAYS comments about it

I don't really have the energy - I just have to force myself to do it :D The motivation of clearing stuff and a few ££s is often enough. I can't let DH lose any momentum either, so I get his stuff listed in the hope that all the extra cash will encourage him to do more :D

I'm determined the baby stuff will not be hanging around. We'll see if it happens in reality!

I'm not set up at all for maternity leave yet. I want to get some savings aside to do it, but haven't got very far yet, although I am making progress with getting my finances on track which will help a lot.

I'm going to book the year off and then wing it. If I run out of money I can always go back earlier. I hope to continue with the ebaying and step it up a level, but that will depend on how cooperative baby is. With little jwil I planned on taking about 6 months off, but stretched it to 11 with leave and ebaying, so I'm hoping that I can manage it again this time. We do have nursery fees to contend with now though, but he should get his free hours from next year which will help. I don't want to take him out of nursery as he loves it so much and it's good for him.

Well done jwil, you seem so organised. I've still got loads to list but lacking motivation a bit at the moment.

  • You really are remarkable jail. I don't know how you do it.

My overdraft is now fully paid off. We have a small amount in credit but will be getting more money on Tuesday to last the four weeks :j:j:j:

Just the credit card to go but is now a manageable figure of under 7000. I did increase the DD to £400 a month but will try and add to that.

Thanks tattycath - if you could see the state of my house, you'd have motivation to get on with it too! Although, I keep running out of steam so not achieving loads.

I did manage to sort through two more boxes yesterday, so everything there is photo'd and ready to go on. I then ran out of energy to do any more. Did do DH's listings though so that's good.

My plans for my days off have fallen through a little now as my family are visiting. It will be lovely to see them of course, but means I won't have my day to myself.

I'm really exhausted at the moment, not sure why. Not sleeping great either which probably doesn't help.

Not sure what the plans are for the weekend yet. Anyone doing anything nice?
