Morning diary x I have skipped a few days as just been to ill to sit and type still off work still no voice and still coughing and aching like I have been battered, Obvious bonus to this lost a few pounds, given up coffee as making me vomit and had 7 NSD on tamp sad bit is no Euro Disney for at least me and possibly hubby and darling little un who to be honest doesn't seem at all bothered all he asked was can we book a week next half term in local caravan park so we can take our dog so quite possibly that is what we will do, its a case of losing £800 already paid out but re-using the £1000 spending money we had saved to book a caravan and a cheapyabroad somewhere whitsun ... DS won't miss out on his Christmas bits in school plus local Christmas fayres etc so not all bad just rotten timing to be bloody ill x
MSE - I just cleared studio and cancelled the account so that has gone now so no more temptations.. right time for meds and attempt to steam through I think xWeightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

Well Christmas is coming thick and fast I am struggling at the moment not so much with bank balance but in stopping spending, I have filled so many baskets in sainsbugs, tesc0s, Asda5, next etc thankfully deleted them but I am so annoyed with myself I have a £10 of a £50 spend in sainsbugs, £15 off in Asda5 etc which are fab deals but do I really need anything else cluttering house up I think I may do a shopping list with hubby later and see what we actually need but after a nose in chest freezer to see what we actually have. We have our turkey and lots for Christmas dinner stuffing pigs in blankets etc but the thought of not going to splurge all our cash on groceries fills me with dread to a stupid extent.. we have all our sweets and chocs, we have all our pop and booze as far as snacks go think some crackers and pringles and crisps and we are sorted ... I have a crazy urge to stock freezer up with meat joints etc hmmm maybe I need locking away til Christmas eve lol...
Anyway on a more MSE note I have decided that I am going to go self managed in the new year the more I read about BC adding constant interest on the more I fill with dread getting to 5 years down the line and we have cleared silly debts like marisota and still have a £1000 to pay on BC OR ARGOS this cannot happen, our S/C payment came out today so I have a full month to work out exactly what I have to do to make this work, we can afford to throw £500 at least a month at the debts so can clear everything apart from our Barclays loan off this year whilst still keeping up with saving for Xmas and birthdays next year and paying bills plus still making token payments to those that need them.. exact numbers are still to be added together but I know I can do this it's just convincing hubby I am capable of doing this..
I am def going to look into YNAB as everyone seems to be raving about it. I need to know how and exactly where my money is being spent.
I have had an unexpected vets bill of a hundred pound this week to pay, thankfully the money was there in bank to pay it plus she needs a follow up on Monday but this has got us thinking that we def need to sort insurances out new year so this is also a priority for us. Pet insurance and house contents insurance.
It is my sons birthday Friday 8 already he has asked for a metal detector and a globe for his birthday ODDso we have obliged and instead of a party he has opted to have the cash himself and go shop, he had a fab fab time in Disney and is almost 100% well again as am I thankfully we need to up all our vits at home and early nights I think.. Anyway best do some work, another Day shift tomorrow and then off til Saturday night.. Yay..
Hubbys new post started Monday in work office manager he was very nervous but is now doing ok just hope the nerves don't kick start IBS symptoms for him so we are trying to eat relatively healthy but not too healthy for him seems wholemeal bread veg with skins on and too healthy cereal are triggers for him alongside late nights ... tricky one.Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

Well got home yesterday to a lovely letter off our Barklee loan they have finally accepted offer of underpayments but will have to default the account sadly:D..
Up with the birds this morning three early nights and finally seeing the benefit, washer and dish washer whirring, elf has been nice for a change, sorted a lift for hubby to work as the weather is horrendous here and about to polish and steam through before shower and work myself, A parcel finally turned up from next yesterday ordered Saturday on next day delivery so will be making sure anything that needs ordering for Christmas is ordered before end of week as things are def slowing down. Last early shift til next Tuesday thank goodness looking forward to a nice lazy Sunday shopping with hubby and lil un for his birthday, wishing the weeks away here...
I have just ordered a cheque book online ready to send token payments to a few on my DMP list, I can pay the two credit cards direct over the phone the Barklees loan and Overdraft I need to find an address for and will then use a template letter off CAB to send to Argws and marisota having credit with these is something I would never want again so not too bothered how long it takes to repay those its just the Credit cards that are still charging interest I want gone ...
Just checked BC and in 2 months of being with SC our account has had £81 of late payments and charges added this can't go on so will stop S/C and go self managed for sure after new year... I have just made a payment of £43.56 minimum payment to bring account back up to date and will go from there.. at least now this will stop me spending surplus cash and I can pay it straight off these cards to get ourselves back on track !!! Burying my head in the sand is something I have done for far too long so time to shake things up !!!Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

Hi Aloof,
I am assuming you have written to BC to complain and then followed it up with the FOS? If not this is probably worth doing..

Not yet no I checked online this morning out of curiosity as I had a statement ready email off BC, then seen what exactly SC was paying to whom and seen the late payment charges plus the £12 charges for the pleasure of them letting me know about the late charges..
This is my target for every spare penny and should have it cleared within 6-8 weeks so shouldn't occur any further charges, is it still worth while complaining as there has been a DMP set up for last two months or should I just get it paid off asap... To be totally honest I haven't a clue regarding complaining etc as this is totally new ground to myself and hubby. I am going to go through the link you kindly gave me on the DMP thread and go from there regarding token payments for others whilst I concentrate on this card first.
I have a creation c/c of £780 these have dropped interest to under 1% so these will be 2nd point of clearance.
Then argos and Overdraft which have both frozen interest so far either way SC or self managed I realise I will pay interest on top of debts but to have gained £81 in charges on £1200 in 2 months is crazy .. Hence self managed has to be the way forward where I can make sure it is all paid to where it needs to be paid.Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.
