Just a brief intro I have opened a new diary as I haven't a clue how but we have gone from DRO-IVA-DMP via PP to a self managed DMP within the month and finally feel comfortable with the decision of going with S/C..
For the first time in 10 years of being together hubby and I have actually sat down and spoken about money pathetic really we have a fab relationship but never ever spoke about cash and debts.. I have run up most of the debts and will definitely make sure I sort this mess out asap.. The letters coming through the door are far more scary than the reality of facing up to it. The only problem I can foresee is the rate of paying back I want it gone asap hubby prefers the plodding..
We have debts totalling £14,000 max and that's allowing interest this side of Christmas. I have just gone back to work to help clear this mess up and hubby has clinched a promotion and pay rise plus our maintenance for my SS is now in the last month of payment as he is working.. Massive changes all round... so if I can just get a grip and stop wanting to spend for Christmas this is definitely sortable.
I am also going to post a page of challenges which I can update here too, thankfully work is quiet and I get to post and read often.
Enough for now.

Well today has been a good day work has been and gone, all meals from home, #5 NSD so far, DS is still at after school club he likes to be picked up at 5.50pm precisely, so I enjoy the peace for an hour with a cuppa after work, I have a list of things to do in a little while..
1. Pay council tax online, this is last but one for this year I intend paying Jans and Feb straight off whatever bill we are clearing when we get there.
2. Pay rent online.
3. Spend hour with DS doing homework.
4. Hour catching up with flylady.
5. Make some sort of Christmas list for groceries etc.
6. Pop something in the slow cooker for hubby after work tonight.
I tackled hubby about his secret stash in his wallet, I never have before as I know I really shouldn't be mooching in his wallet but needs must sometimes turns out he has put away the £150 ready for Euro Disney end of November so instead of saving £500 I now have to save £350 and rest can go off the Cretin card at the end of month. So that is a massive bonus and I have already saved £166 odd so will easily do it before end of October and hopefully pay another £150 off the card before his next pay goes in... We have sorted DS clothes ready to go we spend the child benefit in Asda nowt posh but some very nice warm track suits a few tops he has to lovely warm coats and I also just had a pair of brand new shoes off ebay so he will is sorted, hubby will need a few tops and so will I but I will check what I have first as we will be spending the 4 days wandering around Euro disney parks most of what we will need will be jumpers and gloves :eek:Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

Aww lovely I started to read your diary last night look forward to the company xx
Today I had to swap my shift in work as MIL has been poorly over weekend and didn't want to ask her to pick DS up from school so I swapped so had an unplanned day off which I have found really really hard I am struggling not to spend on wants not needs I have found myself filling basket in smyths and seeing sense and walking away same in next and other on-line stores I know it's cos I'm feeling totally out of my depth with starting this whole process but also out of pure habit my eating disorder and spending go hand in hand if one is out of control they both are I need to seek help for one or both or just don't have time off work :rotfl: I have beat the ghost today tho no online spending !!! I spent a few pounds in town in the butchers .. but there that wasn't totally necessary either but was planned I spent £11 there on meat and bought w/m rolls and pepsi £2.00 and a bus home 70p lol so £13.70 spent but did find a fiver in my coat pocket but I am putting that in my savings for Euro.
Got a few more bits to do in the house and prepping tea home made burgers and slim world chips all round ... I just had 2 lovely credit card offers land on my doormat from vanquis and capital they don't even get opened now they go straight in the bin. My facebook feed is full of loan providers, my emails are full of payday loans it must be cookie central all the research I have done last few weeks has left a hell of a trail..
Our barklees account has been blocked finally so I can now source a template letter to get out to them I have just ordered a cheque book with our new bank so I can send out those pesky little cheques with begging letters that should be here by end of week so will aim to have everything ready to post Saturday and wait for the OMG NO CHANCE from the banks next week sometime...
I have so much going round in my head I really need to put down on paper exactly what I have to pay, sort and research I have an empty house between 6.30 and 8.30 as DS goes to football club on a Tuesday so will use this time undisturbed by the table..
I am going to look into surveys for funding birthdays and xmas gifts next year as I am back in work now I have pc access 8 hours a day and truthfully could be spending at least 6 of those hours doing surveys so need to find out which are most cost effective plus which are regular..Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

Hi,
Those pesky items jumping in your basket, I don't know.... but well done on not pressing checkout..!!
Can you get some help with your eating disorder on the NHS? I think debt and addictions/disorders seem to go hand in hand and the word is once you have one under control the other/others follow suit...!
Surverys.. well I do shopandscan but you need a invitation number to get on the panel. I'm sure you can register your interest somewhere for this... It involves scanning your own shopping at home and uploading it each week but pays £10ish every 6/7 weeks if you don't spend it, a nice amount to withdraw for christmas in vouchers like amazon etc... I also do one poll, slow but does payout when you reach £40.. I probably get 2 -3 payouts a year.. Also Ipsos but I have been very lacking in doing that this year. Adpoints if you use a nectar card and like watching adverts !
Hope the balancing of the books and number crunching goes ok later.

Balancing of the books didn't happen, neither did grocery shop I sat down looked at screen and thought blow it we can use whats here til Friday I haven't really done a big shop so far this month but freezers are still rammed as are cupboards plenty of milk DS is now eating my yoghurts so he will manage, and plenty of fruit and frozen veg here so may eek it out til weekend depending on shifts Hubby is working.
A quiet day spent in work and another tomorrow two days a week doesn't seem to have lasted long already doing lots of overtime but don't mind as it will all come off debts and into the Euro pot. We were supposed to be going out tonight with friends but we managed to get out of it last thing, neither of us were feeling the love for it plus we didn't want DS having another late night in the school week so I made a gorgeous chicken and prawn korma and made enough for another portion to go in the freezer.
Not a lot done on debt front apart from avoided wasting £50 on a meal out this would have had to come out of the bank and out of our hols spending.
Going to read a few diaries snuggled up in a warm bed and have a very early night we are all exhausted here through work, late nights and early mornings so time to stop before we end up collapsing.Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.

All the best with the debt Aloofdragon (not aloof and not a dragon)

Not quite aloof but feel I have lost my oomph over the last 10 years and give off a not too welcoming persona to be honest I am hoping to change my whole life starting with the most troublesome first.. Def A dragon I am Welsh lol
I just had the most delish cup of coffee in bed small things in life really matter to me, I am watching my savings for Euro Disney build up and up and I know by payday I will hit my target of £500 if I was nasty Mammy I would cancel Euro and pay it off my credit card and would enjoy doing it alas I can't break my sons heart for no amount of money in the world, I must do some research on money saving ways in the park at least we are half board so most meals are covered. We have both agreed to enjoy frugally and not buy junk.
I so wish the last of my Park customers would pay up their vouchers a week or 2 early so we can wrap it all up this last 3 weeks is a nightmare I have cancelled 2 of the orders down as they hadn't manage to catch up but there is one woman holding us up big-time she owes £270 out of £800 ordered and will no doubt pay last minute again... People want their blooming vouchers for shopping !! The commission is split in half, half for the Santa fund and half for the emergency fund.. I am pondering with paying a year up front for TV license so haven't got that dwindling monthly, and also paying a years phone rental I will look into that see if there's any offers on. Hopefully there will be enough in emergency pot for this by spring next year..Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.
