  • AH thanks Monz everything is going well here so going to go with the flow!

I had a feeling I had completely forgotten something and I had an engineer turned up at 9.00am to fit new smart elec and gas meters, it isn't a shock I forgot as this was booked in October I have slept since then:) lovely guy explained everything and as soon as he went we went on the hunt for things left on and now we are happily plodding away on 5p an hour :rotfl: and the gas off !! God help when hubby gets home we will all know about anything left on that's for sure but the engineer said his d/d were £110 before he had one fitted now he is to down to £53 a month for gas and elec so look forward to seeing ours come down.

The winds have finally died down here now and the sun is out thank goodness as we need to pop to the bank to pay money in, just added my sons pocket money into YNAB its amazing the regular costs you forget when they're only a few pound a week but I bet it's those lil pounds here and there that add up the most.

All meals will be from home today, but will def need to do a food shop for Sunday as need lunch box bits, O that reminds me I need to pay online for school dinners for DS, and order some school tops from Tesco I love their uniform embroidery polos wash and dry lovely minimum ironing too. So going to have a clean through, pop to bank, take DS to work with me for an hour hubby can pick him up on way home then saves asking inlaws to have him for an hour, which always turns into a houseful for 4 hours . May see if our local after school club is open he may prefer to go down there for a few hours it's only £2.50 for 3 hours plus they have a light snack and can stay till an adult picks them up, We will see.

  • Well I have done it I have been brave and spoke to the Creation cred card gang cleared the £400 total owing and cancelled the card their end, I cut the card up this end months ago so goodbye to one card !!

On a bitter note I just opened a letter from Argws with another £12 charge on it as S/C payment wasn't minimum I haven't a clue whether to try and catch up on minimums and pay this down or leave it go another few months and leave them go to A DCA? I will need to do some research to see if anyone has experience with them and how much more I am likely to get charged for it. Bahcleecard is next on my hitlist but will be littler amounts paid off other bills for the rest of the month I am determined to not have to use the can't afford it to pay off the bills I have budgeted for everything I can think of with YNAB so will trust it works as millions can't be wrong can they?

    Dragon,

Contact Argws and ask them why they are putting on an arrears charge when they have been advised that you are on a DMP and 'it would be nice' if they stopped interest and charges - you can't force them but make sure they know this is an official complaint and tell them if their final response doesn't cancel interest and refund charges you will refer to the FOS.

    Great news on 'Cretin!'

Where do the days go it isn't even hours that disappear at the moment it is chunks of the week.
Work is crazy I have overtime coming out of my ears but have now managed to wangle Mon-Fri hours regular so finally no more weekend shifts(unless their overtime), so hopefully spend some time with my lil family instead of a ???? hmmm what is a collective term for fleet of drivers, a fleet so doesn't represent our lot lol..

Any overtime this week will be going straight off BAHcleecard, this is my target for the rest of the month and hopefully this will be gone by end of Feb at the latest, Hubby didn't get his pay rise last month which was annoying for him so will get it this month plus back dated to beginning of Dec, so hopefully this will clear a chunk off the dreaded card. When you sit back with your debt clearing glasses on rather than rose tinted ones you see things in a totally different perspective don't you, needs become wants, shopping becomes boring and even the essential spending on things like kids clothes and broken appliances become annoying. Long may this feeling continue. This time a few months ago Pay Plan were about to put us on a IVA I am so glad I found DMP thread and posted and someone asked why? I really thought the advice given to us by Pay Plan was the only way forward, now we are working our way through a DMP set up we have cleared Stuuudio and closed account, paid off a credit card and closed account, we have made payments to bring back our other credit card into credit limits and made payments off 3 smaller debts, we have set up a standing order to clear the Overdraft only thing left to do is to sort payment out on our Bahclees loan and wait for lovely argws to default us hopefully soon.

    hmm back later.

  • Arghhhhhh !! Lost another post.

Morning diary, Jan 11th I have had 7 out of 10 NSD so haven't not posted due to spending which is the norm for me, one of those days was an essential spend, other was just £4 but the other was a lovely autumn hol in Kos :D it was booked under the proviso we could squeeze the deposit and further payments into budget as well as continue to clear off ALL other debts apart from our big loan and not use our credit card, and so far we are managing really well. All overtime has been paid off debts and not squandered I have paid a little more off Barclaycard and one of the lil catalogues which is really starting to annoy me now so will probably clear those off weekly instead of monthly. A third of the way through January and all is well, I have rejoined slim world and on plan and enjoying ! I know when my focus is straight in one part of my life it usually is okish right across the board it's finding the balancing act I find a real problem. If one things goes lala's up everything does!!!

I started an Asd@ shop for this morning but juggled what is in fridge and freezer and we really could manage easily until at least Wed/Thurs apart from bread and milk I did have a fresh fruit and veg box yesterday as the fruit is flawless as is the salad and veg, and even though it's £20 a giant box full every single item will get used and it does last us a week to ten days, is £20 a lot these days for a fruit and veg box? fruit for lunchbox for lil un for week in school, fresh veg for at least 2 roast dinners with left overs, salad for the week for at least 3 meals plus in sandwiches and it usually makes 3 dif types of soup in soup maker for my lunches in work so really I think that is fab. (Sorry needed to defend my spending AGAIN!), o and a huge fruit basket for snacking through week. :p
So Jan grocery challenge is going well, I won't say anything about the extras hubby brings home as I haven't paid for them.

Just found out you can reduce B@rcl@ycard online with immediate effect :D so as I am reducing the total I am reducing the limit can't wait for it to be zero and gone. £1090 I am coming to get you :D.

Today is going to be a catch up with everything day, housework and going to spend an hour going through bills and totals  we still have loads of Christmas vouchers here and really need a new halogen oven so may pop out and pick one up as we use ours daily and it saves us so much money not heating the whole gas oven to cook every time we have really noticed the difference energy use wise! Hubby is in bed having a well earned lay in I would rather be up and nosing than snoring.

Jan sales are still killing me :rotfl: if I have filled a basket in B00ts and tesc0 once I have done it 15 times each but still haven't checked out I have placed an order for school uniform tho with Asd@ and that is sitting across the road in a neighbours house which is so annoying as it's needed for the morning, will be knocking before 12 lol. I will not spend in sales, I will not spend in sales :p right time to shift .

  • Friday Jan 23rd...

O its been a long long month still plodding along spending as little as possible, I did fail with the boots sale and had a splurge but costs were covered by overtime Christmas week so don't feel to bad and I had lots of bits I needed and wanted.:D

I made an epic mistake of reducing my barcleescard limit the interest took me back over the limit only for the day but no doubt they will blinking charge me for it the burgers, so lesson learnt, I intend clearing this as much as possible this month anyway at it will def be cleared by beginning of March at latest I have 2 months c/tax free so that is £300 off the total and will just pay every spare penny of it all month until it's gone. We are still waiting on argws to send our debt to a DCA I don't really care what they slam on I am not catching up with minimums no more time to move forward not stress about the past life is proving day in day out locally how precious life is!!

So R.I.P Creation card its been lovely (not) knowing you layed to rest in Jan !!
Barclees sadly is heading that way within next 6 weeks !!
March will see the demise of Curvissa and Moorcroft and pay next instalment on our holiday.
April hmm either the overdraft or my Credit union loan, May will be either of the two left.
June hopefully will see argws and anything else left including loan ticking over and maybe a start of a savings pot. We also need a few ton of cotswold stone and some slabs for the garden in June so aiming to get most we can afford to pay off done and dusted by then and then just plod with DMP to clear the rest. In fact I think I will start a garden esavings pot this week as it's less to find then. Must catch up with housework and paperwork this weekend
