  • Good morning all,

Just dropping by on my way to do the final tasks before going to collect parents from the station at lunch-time. At least getting the house ready for them isn't as bad a it used to be now I'm doing a bit each day!

LJD1 - I hope the antibiotics start working really quickly.

Sexymouse - I know what you mean about hands and back aching. I swear I've got through twice as much hand-cream as I used to since I've started flying!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I probably won't be around at the weekend, so have a good one everyone.

Morning all.... here's my thought for the day :
    9250Drink-Coffee-Posters.jpg

Well it's the last child free day for me as we're away again overnight tomorrow  What I want to know is why can't my IL's live somewhere more exotic like Paris or Rome or something...then maybe I'd look forward to going away a bit more :rotfl::rotfl: (I don't mean that there's anything wrong with the Lake District, but after 8 years of visiting and having to do the same things over and over it does get a tad bit boring, especially family gatherings which are always BBQ or meal out, depending on the time of year, then back to the house for card games and a very ratty DD when she gets up the next day  )

I want to get quite a few jobs done today and my first one is a trip to Asda once I'm ready to go and get fresh milk & some chicken for tea tonight (Tortilla Wraps to use up some of the salad I've got ;) ) and probably a couple of other bits as apart from some mince and pasta I haven't really got much in which I can make a meal out of...thats I can make a meal out of, someone else probably could :rotfl: So I'm setting too and getting on with things today - infact for the first time this week I'm up and dressed before 8am :o

So my list comprises of dailies, Asda trip, and :

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    • Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
    • Take a duster and wipe around the tops of your door frames
Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    • Dusting, even if around everything
    • Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    • Clean any other glass in these rooms, mirrors, picture frames etc
    • Clean windows in these rooms
    Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    • Clear any clutter from desk
    • Dust PC and desk
    • Wipe keyboard and mouse
    • 15 minutes paperwork sorting!
    • Clean windows in these rooms
Finally Friday - those terrible kids rooms and spare rooms
    • Dusting and cobweb removal!
    • Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    • Another 10 minutes paperwork sort, we will clear it eventually, baby steps remember!
    EXTRAS
    • DD's school work
    • Sit down and menu plan for next month! - Postponed until we get back - however I will be looking at whats on offer/reduced today ;)
    • Ironing
    • Go to DDs bank to get the £50 she owes me - Will take her next week instead and pop in George in town to see if they have any PE shorts while we're there
    • PACK for overnight stay at ILs - I think there's the mention of going out on the town :eek:
Right, off to check email, a couple of other daily sites and then I'm out of here :D

    Morning all.

Bundles of hugs for all those feeling poorly or fed up.

I had a headache yesterday too, is it anything to do with the rubbish weather?

No flying done yesterday. It was my mum's birthday so we spent a few hours with her in the afternoon and managed a trip to the park both before and after our visit to her so DS got plenty ofriding practise in. So pleased with himself now he is recently stabiliser free!

So today I need to do the bathroom and though he doesn't know it yet DS will be helping me with his room.

The sun's shining here so we'll have to go out somewhere and make the most of it .:T
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Two loads of washing on the line, it's been rained on a couple of times but the sun comes out in between so it's staying there! Yesterday's washing folded and put away.

S & Sd kitchen and vacuumed right through downstairs.

Should go over shop and pay paper bill but I don't really feel like going out. Might force myself later.

Can't get moving this morning, think it's as I have a mountain of ironing on the dining room table:o , have put it off for 2 days and I must do it today.

Think I'll make biscuits with DD later that will give me something to look forward to while I'm ironing!!

    See you all later

Oh no I've done a list and I can't find it, it's round here somewhere, just shows how bad/disorganised things are at the minute. Darn it!!

Anyway so far, 3 loads washing done, 2 on line (for how long I don't know) one on airers, DS2 didn't wet the bed but was sick urgh! Breakfasts made, DS2 dressed and playing in garden, slow cooker now filled with a stew type of effort as I had half a lamb shoulder left so stripped all the meat off.

I dropped a booboo and got what I thought was gravy out of the freezer (forgot to label) once it defrosted found a small beef joint in the middle so I think that will have to be dinner (can't freeze it again) and put the stew in for tomorrow/freezing.

Right off to find my list and doing the washing up from breakfast/preparing.
One day I might be more organised...........

DH off to the races with work tonight so wont be back until late, so face pack for me tonight I think and a glass of wine:D . As I am typing on laptop littles are playing doctors and wrapping my legs using a loo roll as bandage so guess next job will be picking all that up:rolleyes: still keeping them entertained:D .

Looks like it could rain again at any mo so keeping eye out as got coats hung outside drying off from yesterday.

Right got 15 days worth of meals planned so off to look at threads for some inspiration.

    Hiya everyone
Nicki - I know what you mean about wishing the ILs lived somewhere interesting. For the last few years we've had the delights of being taken to the local tesco ('you really must see it it's been extended') and the local outlet centre ('I know you have one round the corner from where you live but I need some new shoes') - every time we go and the poor children are dragged round too! Have fun!

Picked up DD from camp, she's had a ball and i've got three lots of washing to do. Both children have been saving up for a DS since April 2006 and whilst she was away we saw them on offer and they just had enough money so DS bought one and I got one for DD with her money hoping she still wanted it. She did and I got the right colour! Right now I am one cool mum but i'm sure that won't last! DS lites also buy me a bit of time to finish tidying and sorting.

I've made a squillion phone calls I needed to make and booked for Cadburies World for my sisters birthday. I've been before and it's ok but the children love it. At least I paid for it with Tesco deals tokens. I must keep telling myself not to each too much chocolate this time!

    Have a good weekend xx
    January budget
    Nothing left!
