In fairness I did say a good male role model rather than any old one!
Exactly. Which they appear to have in their grandfather.
Not that that in any way diminishes Sue's monumental achievement in doing all the day to day bringing up of the boys with such excellent results.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Absolutely gorgeous evening here, though rather chilly.Looking towards Llanbedrog Head from deck by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
OH has pruned down a bush on other side of the wire that was beginning to obscure our view of Garn Fadryn... This is important to keep clear, as some years ago OH and our daughters and friends went and climbed up it (not a long climb, more of a strenuous walk) and I was able to see them at the top using my Dad's telescope (actually an Adlerscope for anyone feeling pedantic) that he had just given to OH.
Anyway, OH sitting outside on the deck enjoying a well deserved can of beer now. Too cold for me.
Here's another pic of the glorious clouds and hills across the bay.Clouds over the hills in the evening by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
OH finding it too chilly now too! He's laughing at the 8 potential feeding stations on the bird food, and just 2 greenfinches, but as OH says "that's not the point, is it?" The greenfinches are very pugilistic. :rotfl:
Sounds like a lovey day and I would rather a chilly evening with that view than many other alternatives.0 -
Clothes are feeling better, mobility has further decreased and pain increased. My problem has always been that the less I weigh, the less padding I have and the more pain is caused, hence why the weight went on in the first place!
<snip>
I knew the pain would get worse but to me, the reduced risk of stroke, heart attack and diabetes is worth it.
Hugs to you Sue. Glad you at least have one positive outcome in your clothes feel better. But it doesn't really make up for the pain. Other stuff you mention is more relevant I guess. Just wish I could help - chronic pain is a real bummer. More gentle hugs. Will send The Vibes
as best I can do.
I can't wait to see what progress i can make in another month.
Wow, sounds like you are really doing well! :j Fantastic news.I'm sure your progress will continue.

LOL. I'm glad you had an easier time! Bet the being watched made a difference. Gotta look good to the upcoming young medics after all!lostinrates wrote: »Some good news......things do not look worse this time, one aspect is even improved. The chances of me losing eyesight seem significantly reduced As a result. ( the potential hope of this is a big woot) I can start fiddling with some meds with the idea being to see if I can maintain this on reduced dosage.. (When done fiddling with meds I am advised to take another med to try a different approach. I'm not sure about that one)
Oh LiR, I didn't know that there was a chance of losing your eyesight. So relieved to hear that is less likely than originally feared. Hoping you can get the meds sorted better so you can live your life as you wish to. Hugs from Bwlchtocyn.0 -

Neither can I. You're incredible, Spirit :Tlostinrates wrote: »Was like a different person.
I'm equally surprised and impressed that they're not trying to train another generation of medics with poor bedside manner!lostinrates wrote: »Some good news......

Guess just see how the first approach goes and try not to think about what happens after that.0 -
Well yesterday went a little pear shaped.....got a phone call from mum just after my post yesterday saying that they had to call an ambulance for my dad. The hospital was absolutely manic, people queued on their trolley in majors, no space for them etc but we finally got through the system and dad was admitted late last night after he was almost on the way home but then an ECG showed as being abnormal.
Finally got home just before midnight, the boys had not eaten since lunch time, so was very naughty and got a Mac D's (which did not at all agree with me) and then to bed late.
They are not sure what has happened but it looks like it could be his heart again, will hopefully find out more today.
I act as driver as although mum can drive, parking at the hospital makes her run to the hills and she absolutely refuses to drive and park at the hospital...plus I know the medical jargon and can translate what they are saying/doing.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Re the weight loss, there has been another improvement, although the pain has increased, I do feel better in myself. I feel more energetic, more like I can do things but the pain and my body is stopping me rather than being completely lethargic all the time and in pain.
Not sure if that is more to do with reducing the carb intake or the weight loss though! We made it! Urgh.
I have a dead car on the drive. I phoned BMW this morning. I need to get it to them. There is a possibility that they can go to BMW UK and ask if they can goodwill the problem, given that the warranty expired 20 days ago. No guarantees though and I have to pay to get the car recovered to them.
Or, I speak to the garage 200 yards away and see if they will sort it.
No husband this week. He is on a residential course.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That sucks!20 days out of warranty, surely they should fix it? Good luck with making your decision.
