I don't know why I am awake in the middle of the night, but it occurs to me that all single ladies should have a tether ring installed near the front door, so Mr. Right can tie up his stallion whilst he is doing his sweeping. The last thing you want is for the stallion to run off mid-sweep, especially if there's a lot of traffic around.

And maybe you need some hay, to keep the stallion happy whilst you entertain Mr Right? So, add hay to the shopping list, as well as CAKE. Mr Right may well like cake, probably fruit cake. And Earl Grey tea, of course. And cucumber sandwiches.

Cucumbers can be a bit burpy. Maybe better off with cheese and ham or a nice bit of roast beef with horseradish.

Sandwiches are too carby surely? Cake and sarnies and tea won't leave you with that great a time?

The stallion can be tethered out the back. I have earl grey (and indeed lady grey) in my tea collection that probably rivals the inrates'. I could rustle up a cucumber sandwich at the moment, though I don't always have cucumber or bread. Very rarely have cake, but could pop to the shop across the road if required.

Last chance offer: no one want to go to rude and demoralising consultant instead of me? Sure?

If he makes up for that by being an especially good physician, I guess it's worth it. In fact, no 'I guess' about it. It's definitely worth putting up with a poor bedside manner for that.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Meh. I don't think this is the case sadly. Today is mainly an exercise in box ticking IMO. My consult phys had second opinions on this consultants advice which confirmed my concerns and went further.

Josh lost an amazing 4.75lbs this week, think all that nervous energy from his singing stint plus the lugging around of his drum kit made the difference. He has now lost just shy of 2 stone (.75lbs away) officially although unofficially, it is more than 2 stone now.

So how come I could do my research and plan out a weightloss diet for him but all the specialists just shrugged their shoulders and couldn't, or would put him on programmes where instead of losing weight, he gained it!

Or maybe his brain has started working better and the right mixture is now being released....I don't know but whatever it is, it appears to be working.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Been thinking more about this. Am going to be politically incorrect here and say don't go ahead unless you've got the support in place, and your support includes at least one bloke who's going to be there for the long haul - perhaps your dad?? Children can thrive in all kinds of families as well as the ideal two-married-parents-who-love-each-other set up, but IMO they do best with at least one adult of each sex who is a permanent fixture in their lives. Grandparents, aunts/uncles, godparents, friends of the family - any of these will do, but they need to see them regularly, and be around for more than just a few years - it's the older child and teenager stages where this is important, whereas when they're little it doesn't matter so much. Since you're female, your kid(s) will need a male one of these if at all possible.

My kids don't have that. My brothers, although wonderful, are just too far away to see often enough, and my dad, although also wonderful, is not exactly local, and pushing 90 in a year or two, so somewhat limited in the input and influence he can provide. Their godfathers are also too distant, and several of them have other reasons that limit their availability to be involved much with my kids. I see the lack of male parental figure leaving something missing in their lives, and it troubles me.

Is this more important for boys than girls?
