I have a stupid pretentious family middle name which has been going since the mid C19th at least as well so one of them will get that and the girls in OH's family have the same middle name so the other one gets that!
Middle names: DS1 hates his and would like it removed by deed poll. "Messes up" all his certificates, he claims.
DS2 loves his and uses it with his first name more often than most.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My DS uses his all the time. DD's is French and she doesn't know how to spell it. I even forget she has one, sometimes. I must use it more 'in that tone of voice' when she's done something wrong.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Wait until it is your last parents evening full stop! Secondary parents evenings are not the same IMHO because very few teachers actually get to know your child well.
I feel at home with secondary parents' evenings. I've been doing them as a parent for 3 years for DS, but I've been doing them as a teacher for more than 20 years! I call them "speed dating parents' evenings" because the teachers stay still and the parents more round, unlike the primary ones where you just see one teacher and go home. Thanks for the info re tado. I didn't think about whether I would need to change my timer. It is an old wired one, so would it need to be changed?
Have you any idea if you have saved on your heating bill by having it?
Yes, you'll need to change your timer whatever kind of smart thermostat you get. The Hive, Nest, tado etc will control your heating instead of the timer doing it. If the timer was still there being in control, the smart system wouldn't be able to do its job.
I haven't checked whether I have saved money. I suspect I've probably saved a bit, but also I'm more comfortable temperature-wise in my home because it doesn't turn off when it thinks I ought to have gone to work if in fact it's half term or something and I'm at home. The times when the heating is on are much better matched to the times when I want it to be on, and ditto off when I want it to be off, without my having to think about it or remember to change anything when plans change. I love it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Fabulous baby updates :j
Judging by my friends who have recently become parents, I'd definitely get as much sleep as you can tonight. That'll be it for quite some time...
Re middle names, both me and my brother have them. I have a generic middle name, that I share with loads of [STRIKE]girls [/STRIKE] women my age. My brother's middle name is my mum's dad's name. I wish I had a meaningful family name too.0 -

My middle name is my dad's sister's name, although it took me a long time to realise that because the family have always called her by a shortened form that is really not much like the actual name. I have never particularly liked the name, but she is my favourite aunt, so I have become reconciled to it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I think I have averaged around 4 hours sleep a night for the last month which is not ideal preparation for what is about to come, but still better than OH has managed and I don't have to carry two babies around with me. I doubt I'll get more than a couple of hours tonight ascshe has reached the point of being so uncomfortable that she wakes up after an hour or so and usually accidentally wakes me up too.
Still, she is likely to be in hospital for 4 nights so I will at least get to come home and get a couple of decent nights' sleep in the next few days. Probably... Or not as the case may be.0 -

I'll be in the same hospital tomorrow morning but this doesn't sound like the ideal time for an NP meetup. Wishing you all the best anyway. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

And that is with you sleeping in a different room, on a different floor...and wearing earplugs....

I have got this dodgy deal for 4 years of microsoft office 365 family for £15 pa and it comes with 1tb of cloud storage so I am backing up all my photos to a second online storage just in case...but 80GB is taking a while, seems to be about 7GB a day so far and it doesn't half slow down the rest of my internet experienceI think....0 -
After years of not doing his artwork/drawing, youngest has started drawing again...still a bit rusty but getting better each time.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
