Dragon Ball Z
We drove for 2 days from New Orleans to San Antonio on the i10, and all the boys did was watch this stupid video all the way..................I knew it word for word by the time we'd passed Houston 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
...they are really good drawings by the way.
I didn't see much of what the boys were watching, as I was sitting in the front, but from memory they are extremely accurate :T'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

If that is something that he is interested in, libraries have books on drawing manga and so forth. Can't speak for your local authority, but chances are that if youngest is classed as disabled, he'll get reservations free.
One book that I really like is Drawn to Life by Walt Stanchfield:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Drawn-Life-Classes-Stanchfield-Lectures/dp/0240810961
He taught the animators at Disney, and the two volumes of this book are his lectures. The one thing I took away from it is that most traditional formal portraits stress the noun (the Duke of such and such or the princess of xxx), whereas animation stresses movement. So he says to focus on the action or the emotion. So when you are drawing animation, you are using verbs not nouns. When you've mastered verbs, you then move onto adverbs. So, for example, now you can draw running competently, how would running bravely look compared to running scared? How do posture and facial expressions differ.
I worked for an animation studio in my younger days (not as an animator - not talented!) and DH is ex Disney so its something we are both interested in.
So in the case of his characters, rather than focusing on Vegeta (the noun), you would focus on the action (eg Vegeta shouting, Vegeta running).
Thanks everyone.
I'm stepping carefully with him at the moment with regards to his drawings and trying not to put any pressure on him as he stopped completely for 5 years because of something that happened at school (he still hasn't opened up and said what it was).
So at the moment I am letting it flow until he has regained some confidence in his ability but I will (very carefully ) pass on the suggestions made... when he is in the right mood to receive them, I really don't want to scare him off again.
At the moment he is drawing using normal (writing) pencils, not art ones, he got rid of those years ago but until he asks, I will not be buying all the equipment again as one thing he did say was he felt overwhelmed when people bought him those things before and felt pressured...so it is definitely a case of slowly, slowly does it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I can't believe that is will soon be 6 years since the Economics/Houses board had to go under cover. Wow time passes so quickly:('Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

It was getting a bit silly on the main houses thread. Every time someone asked a question about conveyancing a HPC refugee would jump on the thread and guarantee to the OP that they would be bankrupt, their kids in the workhouse and the wife working as a streetwalker if they bought a 2 bed terrace in Doncaster for £60,000.
6 years. I remember the conversation about whether the board should be split. I was earning good money at Goldman Sachs at the time and had automated a large part of my job, about 3 hours a day. As a result I could spend loads of time on here and still do more work than my predecessors.0 -
I hope Chewy, his missus and the chewettes are all doing well. Been thinking of them all morning.0
