He's probably just waking up from the anaesthetic. :)

If they want to operate to remove part of my midsection whilst I am here then there will be no complaints from me!

Oh dear Chewy. Presumably this means a number of not planned surgical intervention births today? Much more scary for the parents I guess, though tiresome for you guys. Presumably your girls are just in silly positions and a tight spot still, not in any sort of risk ATM.

    Hopefully they'll be soon. :)

Thinking of you chewie - I do hope they are able to do it today after you and OH getting psyched up!

A couple of years ago I went into hosp for a operation and was actually about to be wheeled into the anaesthetic room when they said I was the wrong patient and they couldn't do my op that day!

Hopefully that doesn't happen often, and I did have it done ten days later.

Yeah one is breech and the other transverse so the consultant said no option but c section - I am just worried they are going to chuck us out and say come back in a week - I know they are already massively overbooked for the next few days as I saw the surgery schedule when they were arranging this appointment.

As you say they must be dealing with emergencies but given the number of staff they have wandering the corridors here you would think they could give us an update once every 2 hours or so just so we know what is going on. Given it is 3.15 now and there is at least one other couple which is not twins waiting I assume they will send us home - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they have probably already made that decision at least an hour ago but no one has thought to tell us.

For me it is a mild inconvenience but mrs chewy hasn't had anything to eat since dinner last night and no drink since 7am - this isn't a great state of affairs if your pregnant with twins, she is getting quite upset.

Oh no! not quite the update I was hoping for when I saw you'd posted.

Can you ask someone what is going on? In a polite way of course, explaining the nil by mouth.

Hope you have some good news, or at least a better idea of what's going on asap x

(will delete the quoted bit later...)

They won't want to risk ms chewy being one of those unplanned for emergencies will they? Surely they just shuffle things around a bit?

Perhaps you could ask the nurse/midwife in charge at the desk and explain ms chewy would like something to eat if its not going to be today?

It's not just if Mrs Chewy is ready, they have to have cots available in the paediatric intensive care. They may well not need them but they need to know they are available.
Twin deliveries are innately higher risk just because there are two of them. You also need more staff available in the operating theatre and beyond.

    Ah, thanks for explanation.

But, surely risk is greater is ms chewy's babies start trying when they cannot manage it alone?

( horses are so much easier in this respect fwiw, they have the ability to put off delivery for a while)

That's part of the analysis - if they are OK where they are against being delivered when everything isn't optimal for them.

Ok. So, I think that's the point, chewy doesn't need to worry that ms chewy and the toe twins are at significant risk. :)

Just that ms chewy feels uncomfortably huge For a bit longer.
