We're a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Do you know when you want to do it?
Has a structural engineer been out to assess it yet, at all?
In the original extension plans the struct engineer drew in a steel frame (floor member, 2 uprights and beam. I think better would be new/replacement engineering brick piers with appropriate foundations, there is also a 'T' piece which ideally I would like 'lost' in the floor joists but I think there may be a complication with the central heating plumbing (can you drill steels for 22mm pipes or does this remove their structural integrity?
Hmm, sounds like I need to get a structural engineer back doesn't it....I think....0 -
PS Anyone heard from NDG of late? She had another big case which, IIRC, was the cause of her disappearance last time. Hope she's ok.
I think we are all hoping it is something like that, I think people did try and contact her irl but either had no response or were told to report no response.
I have done something to upset O2...a few months ago there was a good deal on a handset but I failed the credit check. Similar offer and DD has failed credit check this evening. Honestly I manage our credit records extremely carefully, never had a single blemish mark, sensible non-zero amount of outstanding and available credit, never get turned down and normally get 5 figure credit limits on cards, had several O2 accounts at this address in the past, wonder what we have done to upset them. Last time I queried mine and they said no issues, they would clear the block and try again but the phone I wanted was out of stock by then. To be honest it is just plain embarrassing

Probably nothing more sinister than a little flag by your name that says, "if michaels wants this deal, it must mean he will tie us in knots so we will end up paying him to take the phone= decline"I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Looking at 2 bed flats in the area, why does removing all storage cupboards and adding the tiniest of en-suites to the smallest of bedrooms, add 40k to the price?
If you have 2 beds that are say 10 x 11 and 8 x 6 with no built in cupboards in either, why would the addition of an en-suite add value?
Also the idea of adding a balcony, with views of.....a train station be attractive?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There's nothing quite like carrying out a major piece of engineering after the job! I doubt that whatever was planned is still viable. How long is this planned main RSJ?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

NPs in Herts or close by, Herts Libraries has released its 2015 LitFest programme and has some really good speakers this year, such as Alison Weir, Dorothy Koomson, SJ Watson and Sharon Bolton. Max ticket price is £10, most are £7.

Michaels, I think that there's a kids programme too that yours might be interested in.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I got home at 3pm, to a quiet home (lovely), followed by an afternoon of kids knocking on my front door and causing various other grief.
Problematic neighbour I mentioned other week was home yesterday, so I don't know where she came into it, but things like this only seems to happen if she's not working, therefore around to entertain to them.
I don't think she's got anything directly to do it, but where she's been sat outside my house previously and has (apparently) had problems with the same kids before, and I've heard that she's previously raised to them, at least once outside my house when I've not been in.
Spoken to the police (as they've caused damage, police were excellent btw), but I'm stuck on any other ideas. Only good news is that at least one of the said children has run past a CCTV camera on his way out, with me in close pursuit behind him.
I know which school they're studying, but not any names/where they've come from, although from the attitude given it's fair to say they're not immediately local, even if they are in the same town.💙💛 💔0 -

Used Nationwide debit card at NatWest asked for £300 draw opened, no cash! Checked machine wasn't 'compromised' and tried again for £50 which it duly delivered. Checked my phone and both amounts had been debited. NatWest weren't interested as the machine had delivered the second amount, and told me my account would probably be credited that night, and if not to contact Nationwide.
Next day (of course) missing amount hadn't been credited, so trip to Nationwide. I was wondering what reaction I'd get? It seems (although not a common occurrence) failure to deliver cash does happen. They've put a claim in to NatWest but said it may take 14 days for the money to be credited. A week on and still no sign of it!
I'll let you all know what happens.
The £300 was credited this morning,13 days after the failed withdrawal. Although relieved, I do wonder how someone with only limited funds available to them would have coped during this time?0 -
Josh's first uni interview today...eeek! His second one is next week in Cambridge, no not THE Cambridge uni but Anglia Ruskin. Still waiting for the third uni which offered a uni interview date today to come back with a new date but Josh has been offered a place at the same uni as James.
Apart from that, diddling along quite nicely at the moment. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
