That is what I look like. I've just got off the phone to bl00dy npower. Two evenings of waiting 7-8pm for a phone call. No call at 7:45 tonight so I call them.

After specifically saying please call me after 7pm - apparently they called me via a private number at 09:34 this morning, and decided not to leave a message when I failed to answer (funnily enough, I was at work).

I've just spent a rather tense 20 minutes on the phone to a fairly apologetic (eventually) young man, who didn't really help very much but managed to tell me that nothing had been noted about calling after 7pm and that the relevant department close at 6pm anyway.

How I managed not to swear I have no idea.

Not really sure if someone is going to call me back again - I hope not if they're not going to tell me something I don't already know. Looks like 'document npower's incompetence' is on my list of things to do this weekend.

Parents evening. First off DW couldn't come too as DD2 started vomiting after school this afternoon. Then all reports whilst very good weren't quite as glowing as I had expected...I guess the kids need more work on their stakeholder management skills.....

I came home to see a note through our letterbox that a parcel of kitchen shelves had been left behind our side garden gate. Which is tall and locked.

Just before Xmas we came home to find a note saying that the courier had left a parcel in "the car"............ my son's Mito (which he can't drive as he still hasn't passed his test) was parked by the side of the house, and inside was the parcel..............but the car was locked, and I assume it was locked before it was put in there too.

Bizarre.......... ................but I guess this particular parcel courier had additional skills.

Josh smashed the interview at Northampton, they offered him a place at the end of the interview.

That's great! Go Josh! :T:j Did he like the place or would he prefer to be where James is?

Maggie Glad you're ok. Have you been too ME-ified to post?

Off to Melbourne tomorrow. We're going the long way so the drive will be a bit over 1,000kms. I'm really looking forward to it. I suspect that we just clip the red centre although I'm not sure. I hope so because I've never been to the Red Centre.

I made toad in the hole tonight. No (that's part of a Nom). It was ok but I didn't get the fat quite hot enough. I was thinking that next time I do it would be in a bigger pan with carrots, onions, parsnips with the saussies. That might work better. Everyone else really enjoyed it so I clearly did something right.

Had a chat with the boss today. He's really pleased with my performance in the new job so far and reckons I should work from home one day a week. That means I can live anywhere in Aus: fly in to Sydney on Monday and stay overnight til Tuesday then back home after work on Tuesday. Then I have the rest of the week to myself until Friday which would be from home.

My life is pretty good at the moment even if my back does ache. I'm quite content.

    Sounds all good :)

Do you have strategies/techniques to help your back with the number of hours you are planning in the car over the next few days?

Is living away from Sydney an option you are genuienely contemplating? You mentioned the job might become full time at some later date, wouldn't that throw a spanner in the works were it to happen?

Very good to read this. Contentment is greatly under rated but suggests balance and care.So pleased for you.

Yup. 3 lots of 3 hours with substantial breaks between sections to actually do something (first break is looking at house and land packages in a town called Bungendore).
