    Second slow cooker meal today
Earlier this evening I remembered something I used to like in a cheap Greek restaurant about 35 years ago - and I need to look up the recipe for that as I figure I can make it. Sousoukakia smyrneika and a variety of other spellings. I used to go and get this meal for £2.95. It was spicy meatballs with mediterranean herbs, with a red wine sauce, served on a bed of rice, with chips, a side salad and (bizarrely) a spoon of (tinned) peas.

    The meatballs were sausage shaped.

Mmmm... they sound nice. Bet you can make them, fairly easily.

I can never suggest food stuff to NPs as most of you eat lots of posh stuff I've never heard of :)

I work on the old saying "A little bit of what you fancy does you good".

Your suggestion of cauliflower cheese is excellent and may well make it onto the weeken menu. seems strange to say it but I want the calories.

Posh alert! Since you've become a home owner, you keep discussing posh sounding furren foods that I've never heard of before.

Careful... Or you'll be groin thrusting next.

It's a funny one .... if you google it it's out there, but I think it must have just been a back street Greek restaurant dish from the 1970s. And/or it's never taken off in the UK as people preferred to have vine leaves at Greek restaurants and try to act a bit posh.

Now, me ... stick some meatballs, rice and chips on a menu for a couple of quid and I'm in there like a ferret up a drainpipe :)

It probably doesn't help that the name has many/various spellings that are difficult to pronounce/remember/say again ...

At our old house we had guests after the building work and found the ultrasonic plug n things did the trick.

We have those, didn't do any good!

Pest control guy has put down bait etc he reckoned we shouldn't block the mystery pipe for a few days so that the poison can work, but if that is the only entry point I'd like to keep it/ them out.

They really don't need much of a gap to get into a room. They'll damage their internal organs routinely to squeeze through tiny holes.
