So on renewal I always run my details through a few of the comparison websites knowing that the new customer deals from the current insurer will beat the renewal price.
But this time Esure give me a price 75% more than the renewal price if I put my exact details but 10% less if I change the house number to any other house on the street. IE they have figured out that people will see the new customer pricing if they use a price comparison website and have tweaked their price algorithm to stop this...sneaky barstewards.
I've never understood why the first rule of selling... that it is generally cheaper to retain customers than attract new ones, doesn't seem to apply to insurance or utilities. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I find the whole MBA thing seems to produce people who don't care a great deal about the people in the business, or pay lip service only.
Away all of next week and have a meeting with someone who actually got an OBE for cost cutting. I've mildly explained about drivers hours and the that drivers are human beings, I suspect I will be repeating myself.
Set up my business so that if I drop dead in 5 minutes time, things will carry on as they are. I like to think I am totally dispensible:).
That's how I try to run things, on the 'hit by a bus whilst buying lunch' principle.0 -

Because it's such a boring product that most people can't bear to shop for it more than once.

Generally only if it's worth the effort of doing it. The recent switch to Scottish Power to replace my existing EDF package was only worth it due to the £30 cashback from this site, paired with the fact the old deal was ending anyway.
I've checked, and I'm allowed to tell you that the aicraft in question (I mentioned it last night) is the Sukhoi Superjet 100/95LR, which will be fitted with 12 business (in 2+2) and 75 economy (in 3+2) configuation. Seats designed by Pininfarina, with width/pitch about 2in larger than Ryanair
Details are still to be thrashed out, largely involving prices and delivery slots, and all I know at the moment is that there are 31 potential routes, 5 of those are filled already (although we will compete on one of them), and flight numbers 1/2 will be to/from Moscow, not London as previously planned.
Livery will be red writing/tail, with the same colour/font as Air Berlin, however will be on silver, not white.💙💛 💔0 -
Any one heading out for a dog walk tonight, wrap up warm. I was a bit nippy.
The dogs loved the frost, scent trails all over the place.0 -
On this forum many people take themselves far too seriously and think what they post really, really matters.
This (these) thread (s) are a blessed relief from that.
While I tend to agree, sometimes what others post really really matters... I think it was prob my very first post (I'd been lurking for a couple of years) that I sought help over what to do about problems with solicitor and probate after my parents' deaths. The suggestions that were made enabled us to find better professional help, and to understand better how things work (or in our case didn't work). Without those knowledgeable and kind posters we wouldn't be living in this house now. Mind you, none of them played silly games about how clever they were like I see some doing. And none berated me for wanting to get IHT back (we did!!! :j ), which I'm a bit surprised about as if you look at the disability and dosh forum you'll find loads of disabled bashers posting there, which I find very saddening.PasturesNew wrote: »If all your life consists of is getting up, eating, then going to bed - surrounded by others sitting around. Nobody's "chatting" as there aren't many marbles around .... with a backdrop of others ranting, or doing peculiar things ... and nobody really visits you more than once a week for 10 minutes, then 2-3 days in a row for an hour apiece every 2-3 months. What, really, IS there to go on for?
Marbles are everything. Health and marbles.
Agreed. Hugs. The trouble with MIL was that she could not remember when she was visited!
Given a choice between health or marbles, which would you choose, if you had to?
My MiL is like that. We have a "visitors' book" so folks sign that, and can see who else has been recently. Enough space to make a brief note about how MiL was, news told, etc.
I don't have health anyway (though am a lot better off than many others with ME/CFS) and often wonder about my marbles these days. OH and I both seem to be having more memory probs, but we do have a lot on our minds at the mo. So I'm just hoping when we've sold old home and got some way to sorting out stuff at new home (and getting rid of a lot of it, especially books, which we have more than we'll ever be able to read again before we drop dead but OH doesn't seem to get that...) perhaps our marbles will roll home, even if a few have gone missing.
Zag, so glad you are safely home! Hope arm is doing as well as possible and you are managing OK one armed. Vibes for fast healing.
Been starting to go through stuff that we brought back from MiL's flat earlier this week, the final grab before the house clearance bods went in today. Found a few amazing bits... Tatty and filthy box turned out to be silver pill box with tortoiseshell inlaid with silver lid! Spent yesterday evening gradually polishing it up just with paper tissues and breathing on it. OH is very impressed that I even thought it was worth saving.
Locket with photo of OH's maternal Grandfather in as young man. Short length of 9ct gold chain. Norwegian silver brooch of a viking type beast. Silver cigarette case that is totally black - will have to take cleaner to that I think! Other bits will go off to Oxfam, pretty but you can't keep everything!I'm going to keep the Tiffany bag though - might take photo tomorrow if get time - it's just a bit of fun!

How much're your spuds? I've got Lidl Albert bartlett Red Roosters 2Kg for £1.50
These are certified virus-free seed tuber spuds for growing so more expensive than that. 1 seed spud produces a lot of eating spuds thoughPasturesNew wrote: »That took just 8 minutes.... 7-8 hours waiting, for 8 minutes of foodfest.
Ah, but it sounds as though it was an 8 minutes definitely worth waiting for0 -
Enjoyed a 3 hour breast feeding lecture tonight. It was thrilling.
The highlight was the chocolate hobnobs.0 -

Hobnobs? Breastfeeding has moved on since it was my turn!
You'd barely need to upset anyone in posh hotels - who needs afternoon tea when you can bake your own hobnobs.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
