I feel sorry for him. I'm nothing like that but when I see people like that I sometimes see how l could end up that way.

A friend of mine drank himself to death and another had to go into rehab for a considerable period of time. A couple of others have had to swear off drinking for years to get things under control. That's quite a toll for a 42 year old I think.

He's an odd guy. In many ways. But.....all said and done , despite everything he has some thing. My guess is its what ever mick hucknell is supposed to have too. I dunno what it is but if G D asked me to join him for one of the fourteen bottles I'd probably sit down and take a glass.

That sort of magnetism is pretty incredibleI wonder if people realise they had it. Hmmm.

    The amusement that is Facebook.

I put something in one of the local groups looking for a recommendation for someone to sort the summer house roof. I get a couple of people recommending their husbands, a few possibly more genuine recommendations. Then I get private messages, someone sells sex toys in their spare time but is a roofer, someone would like to help me with whatever I need, a landscape gardener offers to grass the roof. Bizarre!

I'm sure there is a joke in there some where...perhaps to do with bush trimmers?
    I think....

Why does the lumbering postman, having gone a bit "out of his way" to deliver mail via my back gate instead of the inaccessible/often jammed side gate, then proceed to swan off and leave the gate wide open/flapping, instead of simply using the handle to ensure the latch is closed/dropped? Now I have to go out and do it - but, what'd happen if I weren't in? It'd be open and flapping all day.

They aren't meant to do that. They are meant to leave gates as found. ( one of ours does it too, its really annoying, our house name is on the gate, wide open and couriers cannot see it)

I think the Huck realised it - doesn't he have quite a heavily-notched bedpost?

As far as I know, my mum wasn't one of them () but she did like him rather a lot. And Michael Buerk. I don't really understand either of them.

Not being a TV viewer, I had never heard of George Clarke.
I've just looked him up and he is definitely not my type. Don't know what it is about him; my first thought was turnip, closely followed by onion.
That may say more about my mind than anything else.
Mick Hucknall also does absolutely nothing for me.
Feel free to form orderly (or disorderly) queues without me for either or both of them.
Not Michael Buerk either, although if I had to choose one of the 3 it would probably have to be him.

I feel similarly, although for me Mick Hucknall's the one that makes me feel "what on earth are people one about", and George Clarke's the one for "not interested but if I really had to pick one of the three...". Have to say your vegetable references aren't resonating with me, but each to their own!

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

He's odd. There's something "right" about him - and something "wrong", but you can never work out what or why.

He doesn't look like someone I would trust, somehow.

Tbc its Gerard depardieu, not George Clarke I was referring to. I'm not getting any great magnetism vibe from George Clarke.

I thought maybe nick Hucknall was really charming in real life, and just......word got around about where his expertise might actually be?

One of the three for me would be Gerard. Based purely on perceived magnetism. But there is no smoke with out fire they say....maybe I'd try Old Mick. :D. George would be bottom of my list. I'd have to smell them all first though.

Gerard Depardieu is definitely on my list of "what on earth is everyone on about?" along with Brian Cox.
