Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

PN, we had a house a bit like yours. We switched the room layout a bit, with very positive results. I know you think that one big room would be great but you need to remember that the more walls there are, the more possessions we can store on them.
I always think of open plan living as one of those big "cultural revolution"/"great leap forwards" madnesses that sweeps over a country.

Silver... I think you're right, it is T7 not 6 at JFK in New York. Still thought it was terrible though. It was too busy for number of flights it was handling, dirty and crowded. Well you know... It's just a vile place and should be avoided. The Virgin terminal on the other hand is beautiful.
