Nothing internal is structural. I've just gone online and found the plans from when the builders were selling it - and I've also jigged that to give an idea of what I mean about moving it.

How far back/forward it goes would need to be thought about as that wall's the sunny wall, so it'd be good to use the position/shape/design to reduce any light blockage - but the kitchen window gets flooded with sunlight from noon onwards too.

I've just selected the loo, dragged it outside, then rubbed out some walls - so not to be taken literally, just to give you/people an idea. Side width has a maximum of course, depth would be for thought/consideration as to what would fit in, whilst not losing the potential for light - and not moving services etc.

This picture also includes the potential for bringing the front door forward by 4'.

In your altered version, what is the square that you have added onto the bottom of the stairs?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I've not been keeping up properly here. Sending positive vibes to Gen, and hope he and all other NPs are in a good state.

PN, we had a house a bit like yours. We switched the room layout a bit, with very positive results. I know you think that one big room would be great but you need to remember that the more walls there are, the more possessions we can store on them.

I always think of open plan living as one of those big "cultural revolution"/"great leap forwards" madnesses that sweeps over a country. :(

Jet lag? Not a fan. It feels like it's about 104 o'clock and I've been up since 2:30am or thereabouts.

It is horrible. It must be affecting everyone in the family, or are the kids more resilient than the adults?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm not keeping up well either zag. Which reminds me...

Lydia...( re new sig). Awwww, thanks. Don't be surprised if every six months or so you get a random pm about it.

Silver... I think you're right, it is T7 not 6 at JFK in New York. Still thought it was terrible though. It was too busy for number of flights it was handling, dirty and crowded. We even had to wait an hour to pass through Club Class security.

Well you know... It's just a vile place and should be avoided. The Virgin terminal on the other hand is beautiful.

Thankfully no plans to transit through Conakry, Libreville or any Ebola hell holes any time soon. Not brave enough.
