Also, do these people know how much chocolate oranges cost? They're 'box of chocolates' type prices, usually.

    You smug, smug ... smug ... b*****

    :)

Don't worry, because he said "A lesson I wish I learned many decades ago." If you take "many" to mean at least 30, say, then Hamish must be over 300 years old, so he's probably a bit wrinkly by now.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Oh dear. I'd say sleep, but the boy is in your county, somewhere near a MacDonalds. Perhaps fir could wave them in the right directions.

He is funny. He refers to my diet in the plural. 'We'.

Its ok. My main concern was that I stopped before they got here for access to bathroom! ;)

I've slept plenty while he is here lol. :D

But he's just pulled in and I'm not asleep. I'm hoping to get stuff done though.

    Gen,

Remember you have both had a !!!! year, if there was anytime things go off the rails now would be it. Maybe you have both been holding it together for too long in an obligation to support each other and now you both need to scream. But scream at the outside world, at the things you have had to endure, rather than at each other.

I am getting a vent in my kitchen today. Mr building expector will be pleased and no more food smells in the rest of house hopefully. :). Not the decorative one, just a vent, but means its a bit more like a kitchen I guess.

Maybe it will help kick my love for current kitchen out and make be want to progress with a 'proper kitchen?' Everyone but fir and I involved in the project seem to think kitchen is a pretty sensible step forward but I really do like my temporary kitchen.

When they pulled the cooker and butcher block out we found loads of big dogs hair. :). It was like she was still here. :). I'll be finding that for years I guess.

American pancakes and bacon here. Pancakes made with rice flour and almond milk. Gluten and dairy free. Positively virtuous.

If it is your proper kitchen then you should keep it. Why not? Or build some storage cupboards/larder type thing if you think you need more organised space.

A proper floor would be nice - I think that is the most temporary aspect of the room. Other things would probably look more permanent with a real floor.

Ok, I think I've stopped being sick, so I better try and get up, huh?

That's the first time in ages I've had one of those episodes.

Hope you feel better soon :)

As an example, my brother and sister in law bought James a couple of pair of socks for Christmas as money is tight, they apologised profusely as it was only a couple of pounds worth which confused James, it's not how much someone has spent...he was very appreciative, especially as socks are something he desperately needs right now!

Edit - Goodness knows what he has done with the gazillion pairs he went off to uni with......

I posted a birthday card and present to a friend yesterday. The present was... a pair of socks! :) She is always freezing cold, even in the summer. I bought her some heat holders to try. I'm planning to treat her to something else when we meet up, but will probably forget :o. We tend to send silly small presents rather than splashing out. I much prefer it that way.

I tried the socks last night when I rolled back home. They seem great (not that it was very cold last night).
