Fir takes berroca. And a whole host of other stuff. He is a supplement junkie. Almost every day he has a green smoothie made of powdered seaweeds and all kinds of other gunk. Yuck. And pollen. He loves pollen.

( I thought teachers got colds because of all those germs children and the number of holiday destinations and virus they were vicariously exposed to via those germs little beasts)
There's a lot of that. Where kids go, there be germs.

Hope your journey back has been uneventful. Would be lovely to meet up with you next time you're over here.
Travelling by train to France is absolutely brill. Flying to Paris has fewer charms. Gen, have a pleasant journey.

Yes, we do get exposed to lots of germs. But there's also the thing about not succumbing to them until you get to the end of term. PN is right - humans have enhanced immunity with added adrenaline or cortisol or other stress hormones or something (bit vague on the details - sorry) but if your life keeps you running on stress hormones for weeks or months, then the drop when you finally relax means that your immunity goes down and you immediately get ill.

    :(

Cortisol's like a human pesticide. A clever way to give a short-lived animal enough sugar to escape from a predator, but a horrible booby trap for one that has stressful tasks bestowed on it and can't get release. It knackers your heart and immune system if you have it too long. :(

We had the best meal last night. Amazing. The resto is run by our friend's boyfriend. It's really innovative: I had fois gras creme brulle. A really nice bit of brillat savarin too.

Two things I've never had, never heard of and will never have :)
I'd have to Google them to find out what they are.
Did he have pie/chips on the menu though? Else I might have gone hungry.

Brillat savarin is a cheese that is normally quite mild.

No pie and chips but they did have steak and potatoes.

    LOL, no thank goodness.

I had beer with the cheese which was an interesting suggestion in a French restaurant.

Woman on Wanted, Down Under, just annoyed me. It's her dream to move to NZ and they have a toddler. He says "we've a good life back home" and has no dream to move. She wants an expensive house too down there and just said "I'd like to work part-time, so I can stay at home and watch ... grow up".

Yeah, typical, right - so you want to drag him half way round the world and work his nuts off so you can live the dream and do bugg4h all while you swan around all day playing "house" in your fairy land.

He's got a spanner in her works coming - just been for the "job interview/prospects" visit for his dream job and they told him he'd earn half out there what he earns here. For his actual job he does now there'd be jobs potential, but it's not great news.

For her job, the hours are long, including Saturday mornings - and a lower salary. Not sure what she is, she might be a vet's nurse. $15/hour he said to her.

There's nothing wrong with dreaming. Or having the BBC pay for part of a holiday to NZ. I think it's an excellent programme as it shares the realities with us lot.

There's no swanning around when you have toddlers!

...and many, many more not swanning around with toddlers.
