Argos are selling the bush one for £180 on ebay.

The candy one looks like it has more room in it though, especially in the freezer.

Which has Don't Buys and here they are:

    Beko CXFD6113W

    Beko CFD6913APX

    Hotpoint HM325NI

Top 2 out of your price range, but it's possible the bottom one might come close in the sales.

Very unhappy with our fridge-freezer where the compressor failed while we were on holiday. Thing was only just over 3 years old. Lost some expensive fish, but worse was some of our lottie produce. Been repaired, but I'm using freezer to store my cashmere sweaters rather than food at the mo. It's a made in China one that begins Ha and ends in er. With an i in the middle. It cost an arm and a leg so am really cheesed off it died so soon. I'll never buy from that firm again.

    I'd go for this baby:

in your price range, good brand, likely to be reliable. I used to sell stuff like this and Hotpoint was always one of the better brands: the people I worked with used to buy Hotpoint which is a pretty good indication of quality.

From experience, Hotpoint have a good service department. They even answer the phone, which is more than can be said for some.

So with that budget I would definitely buy a Hotpoint.

Also, Beko do not have a good reputation, in my head for safety.

So bad that the potential cost saving of keeping quiet was more important to them than having a conscience.

Not that they learned their lesson. They did it again:

I can't think of another brand that has such a track record of poor safety standards and a blatant disregard, disdain even, for its customers.

... and ... er ... why'd you keep cashmere sweaters in a freezer? I plan to use mine to store oven chips, peas and bread.

I've PMd you about slow cookers.

Cashmere sweaters in freezer as we have a moth infestation in bedroom  and it kills the eggs if you leave them in freezer - think for about 4 days, but I tend to do it for at least a week. We've got the moth traps, we've vacced, though prob need to do again, plus we squish as we see! :rotfl:

It doesn't say if it's frost free or not. So irritating when something isn't mentioned one way or another. Fact is, life's too short for getting round to defrosting a frost-laden compartment.

If you go into the Product Specifications section and then open up the Features bit it says "Frost Free N" which I assume means no.

Having spotted that I've got the same model twice, on the AO link and on the Tesco site, AO specifically says yes. I do hate these auto-generated product descriptions.

You have to go into the specifications on the AO link too, where it says "The freezer isn’t frost free, so you will need to defrost it every so often, however, you are getting 3 compartments, one of which is bigger than the other, so great for bulky items like frozen chickens."

I got caught by that too - the one that is frost free is on the left, and it's several Beko ones that "People who viewed this also viewed..."

I hate how confusing all these websites are. It's like they're trying to pull the wool over yer eyes all the time. :(

I was tempted by the Candy due to the freezer size. Compared to the Bush you lose 7 litres fridge but gain 35 litres freezer space. Very important IMHO. If you want to prepare food for later.

The Hotpoint's better than the Bush if you'll accept a small freezer size.
