They are still doing that at 3 in the morning?
I was woken up by bloody fireworks. Bah humbug etc.
Tina Turner. They had fireworks too.
Collectively, they've just about lost the power of speech. It's just noise. Occasionally, they forget to sing.
I might ask H to fire up our karaoke about 9am. He seems able to sleep through it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Not sure. Glastonbury seems to get a lot of people from City in their late middle age and upwards.0

Morning all! Hope nobody is nursing a sore head today.
So much to look forward too. Dr Nikks, chewy babies, a well spirit, Gen's new business, lir flying, Pastures settling even more in the new house, Doozer moving away from karaoke hell... plus of course good stuff for all the NPs I haven't mentioned.

Morning all and Happy New Year
I watched Queen and the rather charismatic Adam Lambert too
Thought the London fireworks were good but was less convinced by the soundtrack. There were some very loud fireworks round here too but luckily they didn't go on too long.
Hope your neighbours didn't go on too much longer, Doozergirl.
I've just had a call from my brother and partner to ask me to be Godmother to my niece :T They hope to have her Christened in our family church in May, rather than in Belgium, so that I can attend. How lovely
Oh well, guess I had better get up and have a light breakfast before meeting friends for lunch.0

Never say never! Port Eliot is great for kids. (and OAPs!) We went in 2012, mainly to meet up with DoveGreyReader (If you check out that link you'll even see a photo of me!), but also to see Stealing Sheep (great Liverpool Band). We glamped in a bell tent, and took a camping stove and had bacon and eggs and fried bread for breakfasts sitting outside the tent. It only rained for about 10 minutes on the first day. OH went canoeing up the river one morning. We got to taste some of Angela Hartnet's chicken salad during her demonstration too. Nice mix of different stuff to do and music to listen to and swimming in river too (though we didn't do that). Was rather midgey though! Port Eliot is great for kids. (and OAPs!) Happy New year everyone!
Had a great time out last night with James and Josh, we enjoyed some excellent music and for me, there were some real blasts from the past (some of those in the band were people I had not seen in over 20 years, so lots of catching up done).
James had a bit of an eek journey on the train due to an unfortunate soul being killed by the train before, so arrived hours later than he should have done. Luckily, he has been able to get another SR to cover his shift tonight (he was owed a few shifts by this person), so is staying another day. He didn't actually make it to his bed last night, came down this morning and he is cuddled up to my footwarmer cushion on the sofa with my throw over him...he is also sporting some rather spectacular paint on his face, think someone decided to do UV paint to make him look like a cat!
Josh really enjoyed himself, the first proper night out since he turned 18, he didn't get drunk and he stuck to me like glue the whole night as he was struggling with his Aspergers a tiny bit and it was a completely new experience...weirdly, he is ok with busy places if he is playing but not when he is watching. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0

That's strange... having spent more than 10 years living in the county I thought I knew all places/everything that went on. Just from having absorbed a lot of information by seeing leaflets, adverts, signs, whatever - as you do when you're in an area.
 Never heard of it!
While I'd have never gone to that, I'd have expected to at least have heard the name, once. http://www.porteliotfestival.com/port-eliot-estate/about-the-port-eliot-festival/0
