OK, I've ordered that tap. If you wanted to tell me not to, or to get a different one, then you're too late!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    I think it's a good choice Lydia!

Good to hear from you Chewy, glad it's all going well.

    Thanks Mas.

Hoping for good news about that job on Monday. :)

Have you chosen names yet? ( not asking for them, just wondered if you'd chosen)

I'm calling them Gert and Ermie. OH is not impressed.

Be careful. A very long time ago my greatuncle and his wife were expecting twins. He said that if they were girls he'd call them Georgina and Georgette. They were indeed both girls, and officially given completely different names. However, they were known as Gina and Gette for the rest of their lives. (Gette pronounced with a soft G so to sound like Jet.)

Gertrude and Ermentrude are quaint little names. ( and not suffering the every third child impact). They can choose to be trude of course, Ermie could be an Emmie, Gerti, a Gigi. If one is very good and one a bit cheeky they could be Trudy and Rudey :)

Trudie sounds particularly appealing in an Australian accent, don't you think?

Otoh, mauve squeaker had been going to be Clothilde. When we'd talked about cats that's what we'd planned. But, while pink whistley retained her planned name mauve squeaker slid into a new one with has saucer eyes, and indignant squeak from her, (and objections from my parents) .

Clothilde remains a possibility for future people in my life.

My car was called Cl!mence*, and I really like it as name, more than Clemency or Clementine. Giving your child a French name when there's an English equivalent might be construed as a bit pretentious though I suppose. Like calling your daughter Amelie rather than Amelia. Need to find a French girl.

*It's annoying that the acute accent doesn't work. I refuse to type it out without it though :p

DS was known as "Norman" antenatally (omit longish and not terribly interesting family story explaining why). He has not been called that since he emerged into the outside world.

I can remember the name of one of your cats - the one beginning with N. I cannot remember which screen name it corresponds to, and I cannot remember the name of your other cat either. Fail.

Tell her you were going to call them Stan after Obama's mum, and Ollie after Olive on On the Buses. She'll soon come round to Gert and Ernie when she hears that. :D
