On my way to Timisoara

Next stop: Luton, then stop after that: Bed
Lydia, I prefer two levers rather than one. Will put a photo of mins up later, but very easy to use and no splashback at all with my particular taps; don't know if this is the case with others, as I've never tried it.💙💛 💔0 -
I'd go one lever.
One hand to operate ( easier when hands gunky from cooking or holding something, e.g, wanting to put cold water on something quickly that you are holding in other hand, less to clean)
Last night was missing a few hours, right? I feel like I've had two hours sleep.

Thanks both of you.

CK, do you have reasons for preferring 2 levers?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

The taps in London with 1 lever used to spurt cold water when pulled back (in the hot position) and were difficult to keep a steady flow/temperature with (sort of on/off situation, with little in between). I don't know if this is common, but it put me off single levered taps when decorating the house we're in now.
This was both the kitchen and bathroom sink (bath had the same style, but 2 levers). IIRC they were different brands, but we've lived here 7 years already, so I can't remember.
Hope this helps

My lovely neighbours continue to help us. This afternoon next door neighbour called in and invited me round for tea, as she was leaving another neighbour arrived with a beef and red wine casserole for us.
three months in and the continued support is heartening.
I hadn't realised it had been 3 months. You'll probably find that old chestnut of , 'to have good friends, you need to be a good friend', is equally applicable to neighbours.;)
I have 'Taken' on, on the tv. It is terrible in many ways, but so so good.
It has Liam Neeson in it, so on those grounds alone, it can't be too bad. That wasn't a comment on his acting..... Hope today sees you refreshed and rejuvenated.
Hopefully should hear about this job tomorrow. In my head I've got it.
.
Good luck for today Mas and I believe I missed some other important news, so belated congratulations on the Masters. (As someone with 3 A levels and a forklift license, I do feel out of place here sometimes:rotfl:).
GDB, I run a small and very not at all serious online walking group and today we are in your favourite place, Stiffkey. I can see why it is a favourite, it's beautiful. I'd certainly like to go in real life.0 -

please can you explain what an online walking group is?
the Physio is coming at 1pm today and if all is well she and i are going to take my dog over to the woods for a walk. This is both demonstrating my improved balance ( as when we cros the road Ben will be on hi lead and tuggy, then practising my "outside walking" which is currently a bit nervous. the track through the woods is stony so will be a good challenge.
Not sure about wellies or walking boots and I find it hard to walk with my parka on, but it is too cold for my barbour and I am not wearing my 'best' coat to the woods.
yesterday I picked up a washing up sponge and moved it about 12"then put it down and let go of it, for an encore i pushed a folded tea towel forward on a polished table then made polishing movements.
I was so proud of myself I rang OH to boast of my achievements. hardly Mo Farrar but it is the beginning of getting a reach function back.0 -
Brilliant news on your continued improvement Spirit :T
About 6 years ago I joined Fitbug, which is an organisation promoting health through walking. Essentially, you get a pedomter and download your steps, they set new targets or once you have reached what you feel is achievable, you can then stick at a specific target. I stopped the subscription after about a year and a daily target of 18,000 steps, but continued to wear a pedometer.
Cut to a few years later and a different forum and a few of us decided to get a bit fitter and I recounted the Fitbug experience. The other got pedometers and we posted our steps,w hich was a bit dull, so then we decided to go on virtual walks. To start with we came up with an average stride length, then calculated the total steps of all us over the day to work out the mileage and plotted it on a map. It's somewhat more ad hoc;) now, I take an educated guess as there are only about 5 of us that still do it.
We walked round Europe, Route 66, up the West coast of America, down the East Coast, across Mexico and are currently walking round the coast of Britian. I post photos of the area and any interesting snippets I find. We seem to have developed some alternative personas and some interesting adventures have ensued, it's quite silly but deeply enjoyable - as sort of NP thread in a way.0 -

Walking boots, walking boots, walking boots.
The closest I get to wellies most days is muckers. I did wear wellies this morning, because I was just going over the grass of back garden and yard. Somehow if you do go down its worse in wellies too.0 -

I love that idea. Virtual walks.
When i was a kid I used to do virtual tourist, plotting my journey at home with a marker on a Michelin map, then going to the library (pre-internet times) to look at travel guides to see how the region or city I virtually visited actually looked like. Not as health promoting as actual walking of course.

You could do a virtual walk on a treadmill. Nice views, no annoying waterproofs or weather.0
