If the dogs like her, then she's obviously a nice person.
I dunno that my dogs have the best character judgement. I remain horrified and embarrassed by dog dogs bigotry. And both she and kiwi are biased against men, though kiwi has NEVER had a bad experience with men, dog dog only one bad and not very bad experience with a man......( so far as I am aware)
Kiwi does not like to be spoken to first. He likes to make the overture. Dog dog DOES like to be spoken to first, and told she's beautiful. With extreme gentle enthusiasm.
Kiwi was funny at the race on Sunday ( only dog that came out) he just did his own thing, unless some one spoke to him when he looked at them as if they had the lurgy. But if he liked some one he muscled in and introduced himself. People were in groups chatting, and he just walked in, joined the huddle, looked as if he were listening and sort of nodded sagely. Then went to join another group when the chat bored him. I think he was looking for some good gossip about rats .0 -
Fair enough. I've had a bad day. My colleague landed me in it by accident I think. It'll cost me an extra 2 weeks in the office as a result.
Suggest to them that they share some of your workload - or would that be a no-no?lostinrates wrote: »I dunno that my dogs have the best character judgement. My lot are simple creatures, they mob you when you arrive at the house and each demands that they be patted first, which is patently not possible.
I feel yours are infinitely more discerning.0 -

Really? No getting out of it?
I once took voluntary redundancy and my v difficult boss made comments about there being so little work for me to do he wouldn't notice when I had gone.
Two days before my last day, he deposited a large volume of files on my desk, with a note "please sort and deal with". Didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me, but left them on my desk before I arrived in the morning. They were still there when I left.:pI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Something odd went on - I woke up late and groggy, so I think your explanation must be spot on.0 -
I can teach you to drive a forklift if you would like:rotfl:. It's fun. Anyway, your IQ is a lot higher than mine. IIRC almost as high as my Finance manager, who out thinks me constantly.:o0

Bought this for mater

Don't think its going to fit her. She has quite chunky wrists, I don't. ( even if my arms and hand looked weird how ever I tried to snap it.0 -

Doesn't need other things on it, is open backed, unlike a bangle. I thought it would be good for arthritic hands.0 -
Have you got to know any of the neighbours that could help off-load the filing cabinet?
I think that is why I was successful as a forkie, I could read and write - put me some way ahead of the competition.0 -
Remember to buy your neighbours a nice Christmas gift, And write in their card, thank you for all your help this year.
They'll feel appreciated. Good neighbours who are quiet, keep them selves to themselves and occasionally ask for aid within easy capability tend to be not minded. If you make them feel appreciated its worth the price of a bottle of wine and box of chocs.0 -
Westie is biased towards disabled people I'm afraid to say.lostinrates wrote: »I dunno that my dogs have the best character judgement. I remain horrified and embarrassed by dog dogs bigotry. The other day, a boy with down syndrome tried to stroke his head while we were walking down the street. Oh my...growling and barking...
Same for people with a limp or people using crutches.
I've looked it up and it doesn't seem to be too uncommon in some dogs. They don't recognize the unusual, sometimes jerky movements as just another human, and it's threatening to them. It's embarrassing though.
He's usually good with people. He'll be all over you when you enter the house, but will settle quickly and present you with his rabbit blanket for a game of tug of war. If you do that and give him a treat, he'll be your friend forever.
